Lloyds TSB phone calls
Comments

I got a new number from Virgin media for my landline last August. Since then I have taken numerous calls from this number for a Mr Barry Hookin (?) or somesuch. Needless to say I have no idea who this person is. I have asked them to remove my number from their database and they say they will but then the calls resume.
I registered with TPS but it's made no difference. I have also had calls from a debt recovery agency up north somewhere to this number so whoever Mr H is he has clearly got himself into some financial bother.
Can I sue Lloyds for harrassment?Ellie

No but you can ignore the calls. Or see if Virgin will change your number.0 -
You can also start a formal complaint against Lloyds.
If you have specifically told them that they have the wrong person at the wrong number and they have been unable to remove your details from their system - they are at fault - whilst harassment is a bit steep - nuisance calls can cost them.0 -
I've had nuisance calls many times and usually find "we do not have the caller's number" when I dial 1471. I started getting calls from 01273 743 574 last year. I discovered it was a Brighton number, and since I've an old friend living there I called the number back ... only to find a recorded message " room/office xxxx is not available" [it evidently wasn't my friend calling].
Nowadays I leave the answer machine on permanently, and only pick up a call immediately if ... I'm expecting a call; I'm bored; or I know the caller.
I'm at a loss to understand why this (in my case) 'cold-calling' from that number continues. How many unfruitful calls will they make before someone decides to remove my number from their database? I have no account with TSB, and I have never been in debt to anyone.0 -
There is an Internet site called "who calls me". Pop the number in the search box- they log pip and nuisance calls but can tell you what the number definitely is. If it does not return in the search it's not malicious
Also you could write an actual letter to lloyds - you would be amazed at the speed of response if something is actually on paper like a complaint.0
