    Cooeeee :D

Just having a 5 min break from painting.

I'm using up some B&Q cheapo value paint, and it's awful. We'll need to do at least 3 coats I reckon to get decent cover. The kids are driving me mad, they dont work in any kind of order - get fed up in one place and move on. The wall looks like a blimmin patchwork

Mrs P, the decorating expert, says....dont waste your time doing a 3rd coat.....get a can of the slightly better grade paint, just enough for one coat, and use that. The really cheap stuff is the same as Homebase cheapo....v powdery and it will chip easily.

I dont do ANY decorating, she does OTHER peoples!..and loves it! Although she doesn't charge enough.

Pepe, my DH is fast asleep in the conservatory, hasnt lifted a bleedin paintbrush yet. He's pottered about, watched a bit of telly, played some xbox. All the important stuff

I'll bear that in mind about the paint. To be honest, we're broker than broke, but I promised DS I'd do his room. Just using some up that we had in the garage.

He wanted his room to be chocolate and lime - guess who'll be craving sweets all the time :D

I persuaded him to have the walls cream, and accessorise with his colours of choice ;)

My DS's room is chocolate and lime too!
Mrs P tends to go to a Trade Paint place...I think its Manders. She picks the colour from, say, Laura Ashley, colour charts and then gets them to mix it for her. Being trade paint the coverage is amazing, so pound-for-pound it works out better value.
Anyone can go to a Decorators Trade place, they'll take anyones cash and are MUCH cheaper than the big DIYs.
I tend to leave the house when she paints...its safer.

I searched chocolate lime on Amazon, looking for bedding, and it brought up a huge tub of the sweets. If I had the money....... :D

I think Mrs P needs to come and teach me how to do round the door and window etc. I always make a mess of those bits

She is lightning quick at 'cutting-in', but shes got one of these slash-cut sort of brushes. Really soft, fine bristles and hold loads of paint but release it smoothly so she gets a good straight line.
Having said that, it cant be all because of the brush cos it doesnt work for me! ( but the last time I used it I was having a knee-trembler on the banister rail trying to reach the top of the stair-well....the ONLY bit of the house she lets me paint)....:T
