Lager - Has to be Grolsch for me, nice clean taste and very refreshing.

Cider - has to be a nice can of Scrumpy Jack, can't beat it in the summer!

Bargain Booze near me do 24 cans of each, for £15.99 & £13.99 respectively IIRC - but please chech yourself - it's been a while since I've been in there.

Proper Beer, it would have to be Tanglefoot, Ruddles or Abbot Ale - top stuff, if a little on the pricey side.

I'll tell you about a gem of a pilsner that you can get from Aldi, its name is Wernesgruner. If you're passing buy enough to pass out with a smile :)

that one looks VERY similar to a more well known brand - Pilsner Urquell:

coincidence, or a great way to get cheap good quality beer?! :D

warsteiner is excellent if you can get it.

just a heads up to you guys who like this - you can usually get it in Makro.
Either in 24x330ml bottles for roughly £11.99 or 24x500ml cans for £15.99.

You can also get it in a 5L KEG for £7.99!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
(+vat of course, still cheapest i canfind anywhere, but please prove me wrong :) )
    enjoy!

My OH has never forgiven me for the night we were out and he ordered a pint of Ruddles and I said yeah I'll have the same but as a shandy

Anyway back on topic, I have been into 3 Asdas now and no sign of Brahma beer in cases of 24. Nearest is packs of 4 on a 3for2 multibuy costing £9 so in this way 24 would cost £18
It's easier to get forgiveness than to ask permission ;)
  • There has been far superior lager talked about on here, compared to Brahma. I'm gonna give that pills a go from aldi tomorrow!

Picked up a brahma 24 pack from asda in hulme, manchester today as per original post for £9.99. Been in a few other asdas and haven't seen any so this seems to be only at hulme for some reason!!

Two stacks at the front of the store this afternoon! Very nice beer.

OT, in my local (the hilary step, whalley range) I drink Koltenberg, which is beautiful on draught!! They also serve warsteiner, but I find it a bit strong and bitter personally!

For those night when I fancy a drink but don't want much I also keep in a few cans of lidl's own brand, only £1.19 for 4 litre cans but believe me it is nice stuff! only 2% but sometimes thats all you need!
