I'm a (Tetley) bitter drinker normally, but survive on Mythos, Alfa, and (lately) Keo (Cyprus brew) in Greece, Cruzcampo or Miguel (draught) in Spain.

Over here, quite a few from the 'minor' supermarkets - Lidl, Aldi, Netto, just go for the nearest unrecognisable name...

Strange how the 'reasuringly expensive' stuff is almost invariably the cheapest branded booze?

The answer to my lager swilling hoppo was, and he agreed. A nice HALF on foreign cafe front with a massive head on it. And when that freezing cold half is devoured a new, freezing cold, half shall take its place without your !!!!!! leaving its seat.........PERFICK

NO!!!!! unstocked shelves, special offers that do not exist, items where they do not belong. And most importantly.....staff really p*ss*d off because they are running a poor shop.

Brahama beer is great stuff. I travel to Brazil twice a year and it's one of the best beers there - any with 170 million Brazilians in a hot country.... believe me they know how to make a good beer.

I have to agree, having just returned from Brazil myself, that this is probably the best brew that they make over there.
Having said that I'd have swapped it any day for most of the brews on sale in most pubs.

Compared to a good Belgian or Dutch lager, gnat's pee, and tastes about the same (I imagine)

Price wise I don't think it is that good on a "per litre" basis is it ?

I quite like Labatts and regualrly get this from Makro at only £8.99 + vat for 24 tins - each tin being 440ml

Which strangely works out at £10.56 for 10.56 litres !!!!!!

Since we're well off-topic by now anyway ;-) I'll add my tuppence worth. If a few more people add theirs, we'll soon have enough to buy that 24-pack of lovely Brahma!

My favourite at the moment is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, which Sainsbury's sell.

It comes in 350ml bottles and is 5.6% abv.

Brewed and bottled in California but much better than most American beers I have tasted (Bud and all that other gassy rubbish - yuk).

You'll have to forgive me for not giving a taste description, as I have only ever had a few of these and am not familiar enough with it yet. The fact that I've just brushed my teeth doesn't help my memory either.

Anyway, it is well worth a punt.

I don't remember exactly but for some reason about £1.50 a bottle springs to mind.

Whatever it was, it's not cheap like your Brahma spot but just in case Sainsbury's stop stocking it get it while you can. I'd say that just about qualifies as a grabbit post!
