I agree with your sentiments exactly. I've been visiting this site for nearly 4 years. However I only signed up for an account a year or so ago. Initially i used this site as a great way of getting well informed information (I still do occasionally). However my greatest joy has been hiding in the "Zoo" aka 'Debate House Prices...' forum for the last year. During this period I have shunned real life and real people in favour of the good times we have together here."For those who understand, no explanation is necessary. Please, if there are any producers reading this DO NOT let these people anywhere near a camera!
or we could put him and a load of other BTLers in a jungle and make them eat worms and crawl through mud. There is brobably a very well observed joke in this, but I'm afraid it's over my head. Can you explain?I'm a buy-to-let-er...get me out of here.
That could be the name of his property show, where he advises over leveraged BTLers on how to dump their properties and escape bankruptcy."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. Yeah it's a laugh isn't it.
Actually it would be good to have DD back around, I feel he could offer some valuable insights to quite a few posters here.
eg I'm sure he'd have enjoyed the shakerbaby thread.
He and I exchanged quite a few PM's and I know he'd be more than happy to see us having fun whilst helping out the less fortunate. He often used to tell me of his frustration with the more zealous members on this board but ultimately it all just became too much for him.0 -

I exchanged a few PMs with him myself, very helpful bloke. He still contributes on the MFW board and I see he currently has a thread running on the pensions board."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. Yeah he still pops in. I remember letting everyone know at the time he wouldn't be leaving for good as he set up the MFi3 thread in the MFW board. He logs in every now and again to update them on his quest and send a few PM's etc.
I hope he gets to see this as he could really help a few of the people wondering about when and how to buy etc. Make sure you ask him (PM him, he answers those) if you need to, he's a great source of advice on that front.0 -
Surely I won't need to PM him, as, wait for it, he is ME!!!
HAR!!! I had you all fooled! Yes, I am DD in the flesh!

From what I understand the Wilson's tended to buy at around 10-15% under full market value - because they completed the deal quickly with minimum fuss. So I would imagine that a FTB who really wanted a particular house would not really have been 'priced out' by them.
To be fair though, the Wilson's don't seem like very nice people.18 May 2007 (start of Mortgage):
