Contract Sim into Pre Pay Question
Hi
I'm looking to get a better deal on my phone contract. I currently have 2 mobiles (1 was used mainly for work and the other personal but now I hardly use the personal one)
Anyway I don't want to lose either number so I would like to get a good contract upgrade on the one number and keep the other on pay as you go sim so that I don't lose any calls from someone who has the other number.
What I was going to do was phone my provider and ask for a good deal and if I didn't get it I'd cancel the contracts on both and look at another provider as my main phone.
BUT I can't risk losing the other number.
Any advice or suggestions appreciated.

You seem to know what to do so far. Like you said if you don't want to lose either of your phone numbers and your provider(s) cannot offer a better deal try, get them to put these numbers onto PAYG sims at the end of your termination notice or, request a PAC number. Get some PAYG sims, during the registration process tell the person you would like to transfer your (old) number and give them the PAC number. Your numbers should be saved after this process.
When you find a contract for your business phone, request a PAC number from the PAYG provider, give this number and the phone number to the person (if it's over the phone or instore for example) so that your business number can be used for the contract that you're signing/agreeing.I think in some cases, if you connecting your monthly mobile to the same network you can ask them to transfer you to the contract.
