Sky HD box Repair Cover

Hi All,
I have received a letter from a company telling me that my Sky HD box is nearly 12 months old.
Any repairs will then be at my expense, however they will cover it for repairs at £6.99 per month!
Anyone know of a better deal?

Yes. Worst case, Sky will charge £65 for a call-out which will include replacement (refurb) equipment if required. They might even do it for free if you say you can't afford it and might have to cancel and use Freeview instead.

I got one of those letters the other day.

Interesting that it was headed "Important Notice Requiring Urgent Attention" since it was not important not urgent and did not require any attention from me whatsoever.

Must admit that's my approach. With the amount of money they get out of me (Sports, HD, 2x multi-room) I take the view that if they won't provide functioning equipment, I'll keep their subscription money in my bank in future...
I really must stop loafing and get back to work...
  • Unlike the spammer above I can recommend two well established and highly reputable companies in NW England: www.digifixltd.co.uk and http://www.sers.me.uk/

Both charge around £45-£50. No insurance, no monthly payments, just a quality and honest repair service when you need it.

For DIYers Satcure sell most components to carry out repairs.

My wife has just received one of those stupid "Important Notice Requiring Urgent Attention" letters addressed very specifically to her, not just a blanket mailshot. It states "Your Sky digital satellite system warranty is due to expire"! Well that's news to her and me since we have never ever owned a Sky system of any description. Her first reaction was that she'd been a target of identity theft

The letter, sent by a company calling themselves 'Digital Satellite Warranty Cover Ltd.' then goes on to offer various maintenance packages at different prices.

I really hate this type of Spam advertising done in this con-trick style. An older less alert person could have easily been duped into thinking this was indeed something legal "requiring urgent attention". If this form of selling is not already illegal, it damn well ought to be!
