I have exactly the same problem as you do. I have contacted Samsung today and am awaiting a reply. Please let me know if you have any joy and if so how you went about getting the problem sorted, and I will do vice versa, cheers0

well you should contact the shop you purchased it first. If you can't be bothered to put up wth their lies about 1 yr warrenty. You can call the customer service of the manufacturer which with samsung helped out alot. sorted it out.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

Okay I will. I'm emailing them now. I'll let you know how I get on.0 -
Today I corresponded with the retailer for a couple of emails. No surprise that they're trying to shirk out of their responsibility. The crux of the matter is they now say I have to get an experts report. Obviously I will have to pay for this report. If the expert deems it is an inherent fault can I reclaim the costs from the retailer?0

Bump, anyone?0 -
I dont think you can get the cost of the expert back but one thing to remember is that even if you get this report they will want to check it for themselves as well and it could well go to a third party if your experts opinion differs from thiers.
Thier best defence seems to always be making you pay hoping you wont deem it worthwhile. Remember the fault HAS to be something that basically made the goods faulty when you bought them. Coming back with something that could be deemed as normal wear and tear wont cut it. This could even be something as stupid as the power supply overheating because of dust. that is seen as your fault.
One thing I will say though. From when I got my samsung replaced, the service engineers have a special menu they can access that gives a load of extra information including the amount of time it was switched on and the amount of time on standby. These values Cannot be reset so if the fault comes back as a power fault and its been on standby or switched on constantly for the whole time you have had it then they have a get out clause as it says in the manual (mine anyway) that the TV should be unplugged and not left on standby for extended periods.
Just a little headsup before you start paying engineers for reports0
