  • I collect signed books, and somehow seem to have ended up with 3 Terry Pratchetts. Nothing would ever make me part with my signed Stephen King though, I even bought a second to read rather than risk damaging it!

^^LOL! I won a signed Charlaine Harris (True Blood) book and even though I'm dying to read it, I can't bring myself to damage its pristine condition LOL!

I read somewhere that book publishers like authors to sign as many books as possible because then the publisher cannot take back any signed copies like they can with unsigned ones. So these count as sold and often bookshops sell them off cheaply if they cannot get rid of them.

I have come across several signed editions in my book buying and selling and most have not gone for much more that unsigned ones unfortunately.

One way to find out - pop it on Amazon as "collectable" for £50 and see if it sells.

Then drop it to £40 in month or so if it doesn't.
