Warning BT Broadband cancellation policy

I was offered a £5.00 discount on my monthly rental with 7 days to change my mind, but didn't clock that they meant 7 days and not 7 working days, (so 5 working days actually) so when I rang to cancel today, I was too late and the d/d had gone from my account and I am now tied in to a twelve month contract.

Had complete sense of humour failure with BT person who refused to let me speak to the dept. responsible "because they have no telephones" - apparently they will ring me in 4 days time to reiterate that unlike every other company, seven days means seven days including bank holidays, weekends etc.

I've obviously been targeted as a Talk Talk phone customer - so have your wits about you - my pregnant addled mind has resulted in a costly mistake here.... :(
