Thanks for that, we have sent ballons to heaven with everything she wanted to tell him recently and i have told her we can do that whenever she likes and she seems happy with that idea but i will try the scrapbook xThere's this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo. I think he got it right if he left behind the kind of stuff which can't be argued over in a will.well . lol never thought of it like that , that tbh was probably all he had. His estate went to his wife . A house and garden and a mongy cat . Nothing else .
dont care really to be honest .. I just loved him and miss him so ...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
hi there, just want to ask a question please. my mum died last year, no will but a solicitor is dealing with the estate, there are 5 of us and when the house is sold we all get a fifth. my problem is this ,my brother has got rid of the entire contents of the house without asking any of us did we want anything, i have put a letter in with the solicitor asking for an inventory of the whole contents and my personal property back. does anyone know what happens under these circumstances? i would have thought that the solicitor should have asked for an inventory of the contents before now, or is that not right? thanking you in anticipation
From what i have read in the tinternet everything if not specifically bequeathed should be devided equally where there is no will so if your brother got any money from the items it all needs to be declared and put into the pot as it were
But you need to seek legal advice over this as im no legal eagle and as its not just the money there are sentimental items there too you need to ask your brother what he did with the items and ask if you can arrange so that you all get a chance to devide things up iykwim xThere's this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo. OP, you mention the only valuble item was a car...
Out of interest, how much was this worth, was it given to you, and was it very close to an expected death?? eg Illness etc
I may be well of the mark and feel free to call me suspicious, but if its a 20k car that was signed over to another beneficiery shortly before a death I can half understand why the cousin may feel the estate has been plundered.
(if not by all means disregard!)0 -
not at all thats a fair assumption the car would probabbly be only worth no more than £3000.
The deceased had been unable to drive the car for a while and signed it over after failing his test, it was later that it was found out he had cancer which was causing the problems in his back and we were told he could have 3 or more years to live as it was quite advanced by this time but they had done everything they could doThere's this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo.
