Advice Needed!!

 Hi there,
I have 2 loans to claim back ppi plus a credit card, all with the Clydesdale Bank. One loan finished last year & the other finishes next month. I have received all the relevant information from the bank but I am not sure if I should claim separately or combine these. Was told that ppi had to be included with both loans. Can anyone Advise?

Thanks, Gil

    Hello and welcome Gil ;)

If you have the same reasons of being mis sold, keep them on the same letter, just remember to enclose the account numbers to the loans involved.
I would do the credit card reclaim letter separately though.;)

Hope this helps and check this link below for further information and reclaiming of PPI, if you need any help, please just ask, good luck.

    Thanks di3004.

Really much appreciated. Could you also tell me how to work out the interest. 1st loan was for £13,800 with £5,684.10 added on top of this for ppi, which started on May 2001 & ran for 364 weekly payments. (until last year)
The second loan taken out was for £8,700 with £1898.13 added on top of this for ppi, started the 2nd loan in November 2005 which is currently still running, finishes next month, 208 payments. .Thanks again di3004!

    Hi Gil

I've absolutely no idea when it comes to working out calculations, sorry.....not good with maths at all:o, Marshallka done mine for me on here, hopefully she will take a look at this for you.;)

Although you do not need to write in your amounts on the reclaim letters at this point, as they hold all your details of all your loans on their systems, and they should always provide you with a detailed full written breakdown.

Maxdp posted a link a while ago on here, in how the FOS calculated refunds, take a look at this link for now and with a bit of luck your figures will be looked at for you as well, good luck.

    Thanks again di3004,

I really appreciate your help. I did look at this site earlier but was still a bit confused:confused:. Don't think I need the figures for my 1st letter, I will keep you posted.

    Thanks Gil

    Your very welcome Gil.;)

They hold all your info and of course you can always ask them to send you detailed written breakdowns as well, your entitled to have these.
And as you also said there is no need to write the amounts down in the letter, you will be fine, all the best with this and look forward to hearing from you again X

    Hi again,

I am preparing my 1st letter for Clydesdale Bank regarding my credit card.
I have a copy of my agreement & it seems obvious to me that it was the salesperson who has ticked the box for the ppi. I also feel that the policy was never fully explained & I was certainly never told that it was optional. I also had a certain amount of cover thru my work so i would never have taken out this policy if it HAD been fully explained. So do I state all this in my first letter. Anyone?

PS - I'm not very good with this type of thing!!:o:o

Yes , state as many reasons as you can as to why you were mis sold.

    Hi Gil
    Your doing good.....:T:T.
It would not surprise me if they used their automated ticks of crosses etc for the PPI.

As Pinknico says, write every reason that occurs to you, this will also strengthen your complaint.
Have you also checkout out the mis selling checklist on the link here as well?

Hi can someone give this letter the once over to see if it's okay. Thanks to all who have helped me so far:T

I purchased the above policy from you in 15/11/2004 but now believe that I was mis-sold this policy for the following reason:
This is due to the fact that I was not given the correct information when the policy was sold to me, as
    * your salesperson had marked the box on the form to request the policy.
    * your salesperson stated that it was compulsory with the credit.
    * the salesperson certainly did not explain that this policy was optional.
    * your salesperson did not give me full information on what the policy would and would not cover.
    * your salesperson did not enquire whether I had alternative cover, which I believe I had.
Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.
I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.
    Yours faithfully

    Thanks again, :rotfl:Gil
