Correct, your only LLU options on Wymondham are Orange or TT.
The service might well be worse with BT, but not because it's not LLU...
If you choose a non-LLU provider, they all use the same BT network, because they are just reselling a BT Wholesale service to you, so it costs more-you'll find most non-LLU prices will be around the same. So for non-LLU, the service level is more important than the pricing in choosing an ISP.
TT will be around £10 a month less than one of the non-LLU's.

  • Thank you Macman, you have been tremendously helpful. I will go with Talktalk and hope it is all ok!
I have learnt much more on this thread than I learnt from a lot of googling!

Tozer - how do you find talktalk generally? Are they helpful etc?

So far, excellent. Although early days.

I was a bit nervous about them as there are some bad reviews and I only remembered that they are all part of AOL (who I found dreadful) afterwards.

That said, the broadband connection is stable, reasonably quick given where we live. Set up was good, the router looks great and the phone service (free caller ID included) so far is without problem.

Only downside is 18 mth contract. Us country folk may well benefit if the 2mbs pledge ever materialises and so there may be more options over the next couple of years. That said, it is fine for now.
