advice neede on second house phone line
Have just started up a sole trader business and want a phone line independant of my house phone.
This will have an answerphone attached to it most of the time but will not be used to dial out.
Been quoted £25 installation from Telewest and £10 per month therafter. Is this a good deal or is there a better way round this.

Well there's several options reallty.
The simplest is just to buy a pay as you go mobile phone for the business line. You then wouldn't have to pay any line rental, just the cost of calls you made.
There are also companies out there who will offer an 0870/0845 number. These calls would then come through on your normal landline number, plus you would be pad up to a couple pence per min for receiving the call.
If you have broadband you could get a normal landline phone number but incoming calls would be rounted to your PC. Your PC would then record incoming calls as voice messages or allow you to answer them as normal calls.
Or of course you could get a second line from your phone provider.0 -
Thanks for the reply, should have said dont want to go down the 0870, 0800 number route. Want to be seen to be local.
Have got broadband would be interested to know more about the calls to pc bit.
Again any help greatly appreciated ;DI say what I like, I like what I say!0
