This is not a tip that will not save you millions but can save you about £2 a month if you are currently on AOL anytime.

I've been on AOL anytime for years paying 15.99 each month and AOL refused to give me any type of discount on their broadband packages. Anyway, I decided to buy a new Dell computer recently and one of their special offers was getting AOL silver for 15.99 instead of 17.99. I phoned up AOL to get this package, and wasn't asked for any proof of buying a Dell computer at all, they just pressed a few keys and told me that I was on their 'special promotion' for 12 months where the price would be 15.99.

Like I said, I dont think this 2pound a month saving will make you rich, but you can get something a little bit extra for free. Give AOL a ring saying that you saw the advert on the Dell website and you should get the deal.

If you decide to do this, please could you give the 2 pounds you save to the Asia Disaster Appeal. Thank You

I too was a long standing AOL customer who wanted a deal on broadband. The trick is to get through to customers services not the call centre. You ring up to say you want to leave them. They put you through to CS and they look at your account. They offered us a free month to think about leaving them. We upgraded to AOL silver and got a free month no prob. but when we rang back to accept we got through to call centre who said they knew nothing about any discount. Stated again we were leaving and hey presto transferred to someone who knew about it.
