I hope so too - in fact he's always honest, it's just that HE is confused, so it's very hard for me to understand what's going on with him.
The major difference between him and Shrek though is that when he says 'friends', he does actually mean friends, not just 'lets call it a friendship to keep her sweet so she will still let me sleep with her even though I'm treating her like crap'.
