hope you have a good day at Chessington.xxx
Hello lovely lady,
yes thank you, we did have a brilliant time :j. It stayed dry the whole time we were there a we had fair bit of sun too, although we just wanted it to get dark as quick as possible so we could see everything all lit up.
We managed to go on all the rides we like apart from Vampire which had been closed all day & when it did open the queuing time was 90 minutes . About an hour too long for us so we carried on just wandering & enjoying the atmosphere. Lots of people had dressed up & we're determined to dress up & go next year - I'm going to investigate the cost of annual passes in a bit. Seeing as we live within 20 minutes drive of 3 of the parks that are included in the membership, it might well be worth it.
I did end up spending a bit more than I wanted. By 4.30 we were hungry so had some donuts & drinks to keep us going - £6.60. As it got dark we had to buy some red flashing devil horns for DD - £4 & as we didnt leave until 8 & were really hungry & so tired with all the walking & excitement, I chose to conclude the day with a cheeky shared meal of fish & chip supper for £4.80.
And that my friends, is how Lula can easily fritter about £70 in one day.
It will probably be the last big entertainment spend of the year though - I love fireworks & Bonfire night - all that misty smoky autumn air etc & would happily go to a big display ... but DD really doesnt like the loud bangs & she has a party on the 5th so we wont be going anywhere this year.
I love pantomimes & would love to go & did research tickets, but DD's school always go to one at the local theatre & it seems silly to buy more tickets just so I can go too.
We'll be doing lots of lovely leaf scuffling walks, visiting local museums & parks & making cards & decorations for christmas.
I've claimed £10 from Valued Opinions i the fomr of an Amazon voucher & already ordered Just Dance 2 for DD for christmas. I'm sure I claimed £10 from ipsos too, & they said it would take 28 days to receive it. 28 days for an e-voucher ? pah meanies . I need another 50 points to claim £10 from lightspeed & cannot get past the screening stage at the moment.
Must go & think about a title for my new diary ... or I might be very lazy & just carry on with this one ?
Any thoughts gratefully received, I'm rubbish at making such decisions
night night

I think you know the title...and it has fabulous in it! Lady if you want help with variable spends well I am your woman. And I've said it before but weekly, weekly, weekly is the way to go with money...that way you're never skint and feeling deprived for too long! X'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Sounds a great day, Lula! And an annual pass can make a lot of sense when you're so near the attractions, even going on the spur of the moment if its only 20 minutes.
The autumn/winter plans sounds classic too - I'm hoping I can get a table in time to do something like that at least in the aftermath of Christmas2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Good evening all,
just popping in briefly to say thanks for the suggestionsSouk - you are a bad girl, & that's why I love you :A
Have had a lovely NSD here. Have done cleaning, tidying, decluttering & then went out trick / treating with DD & neighbours. T'was lovely to see so many people out & about & joining in & we came home with as many sweets as we gave out so very rewarding all round.
Gave a lot of DDs old books to neighbour who was delighted & feel happy that they are going to a good home.
Time to shut down this old thread now & start a new one tomorrow
A huge thank you to all for keeping me company - couldnt do this without you :A
