Hiya All! :j
Does anyone know of the places that make the furniture for DFS etc? or indeed any places that make furniture - I'd rather by direct from a manufacturer.
Cheers

Everyone has a photographic memory, it's just some of them don't have film.

I'm a big fan of Sofa Sofa https://www.sofasofa.com - a cooperative for local manufacturers. We got leather sofas from them at about £500 less than if we'd bought them from DFS and co and they were delivered within about six weeks compared to three months from the big manufacturers.0

Agree with beccatt. Bought from Oakridge (now owned by/part of SofaSofa) about 3 years ago. Brilliant. 3-seater sofa for £249 (Madrid style) - can't say fairer than that! Have been really pleased with them and would certainly never by from a shop again - why pay their inflated prices? When we were looking they happened to have a showcase day at a hotel in London so you could actually see the sofas in the flesh, so to speak. Might be worth asking if they do these regularly and somewhere near where you live.

I get a dead link for https://www.sofasofa.com, https://www.sofasofa.net and https://www.sofasofa.co.uk exist, but don't seem to be what you were talking about.

mentat - try https://www.sofasofa.co.uk (sorry not sure how to make this link). It should work.
Edited as it 'linked' all by itself!!!0 -
Yep on it now - found a lovely one that looks similar to my mum's old one - but she's a bit difficult to persuade..... I'd rather she bought a new sofa, with machine washable covers than replacement covers from DFS that are only dry clean - just for the covers DFS want nearly £800......Everyone has a photographic memory, it's just some of them don't have film.0

sofasofa have regular sales in fact had one recently on replacement covers, probably sent it to us as we had bought one of their 3-piece suites. I have never washed mine (that sounds awful doesnt it but I do hoover it regularly) but a friend of mine does and I'm sure she's had no problems. Can't believe DFS want £800 for replacement covers - that's more than the suite from sofasofa. Happy hunting.0

Yep - it was for 4 seater and 3 seater replacement covers - She can buy a new one in a 4 seater and 3 for just over that in the colour she wants and it's machine washable (because of the dogs).Everyone has a photographic memory, it's just some of them don't have film.0

There's loads in South Wales, they advertise in the likes of the Telegraph every week.0

We got our leather sofas from Deeside Furniture Outlet in Holywell, North Wales. They are the manufacturers for M&S and Next, and my leather couch (a second admittedly, although you'd barely notice, and after five minutes with my kids, anything would be a second) cost me £480 - £1399 for the same one in M&S.0
