Problem was that your friends could be playing safe and not adding anything but still get digitally violated cause you had installed a dodgy app. So those that think they have 40000 real friends on facebook are just increaseing their risk.

  • Facebook is having problems at the moment, lots of my friends are reporting dodgy stuff.

Not had any problems, been using it for years with a personal profile which is about as secure as it gets and fan pages for my businesses.

Useful to keep in touch with family and friends over the world, but I don't put much up on-line, and certainly not e-mail, phone, address etc, nor any personal photos.

99% of issues happen due to social engineering hacking, people adding friends who aren't friends then disclosing info like passwords, or, as mentioned before, adding numerous mindless apps.

haven't been able to access Facebook since 1400 this afternoon (had similar problem a few days' ago): keep getting the same message:-

    Account unavailable

Your account is temporarily unavailable due to site maintenance. It should be available again within a few hours. We apologise for the inconvenience.

It's been a long 'few' hours!

  • I was on facebook there now, and suddenly the page changed and told me I was infected with loads of viruses and should download some pile of tripe. I got out with Ctrl+Alt+Del

Should I still be secure? I'm going to run malwarebytes just in case. And I'm getting this after only wiping my computer 3 days ago!
