if he can take something more substantial then plain rice and some very plain chicken may go down ok but otherwise stick to liquids and toast if he feels like it.0

Rice, particularly wholegrain rice is good for a sensitive stomach. It doesn't taste of much and it's quite nutritious.
And if you're sick, it's not too.... offensive.
I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...
I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!0 -

this is a TCM remedy, to ease queasy stomachs, try anything with ginger. eg steam fish or tofu or minced pork marinated with a little soy/salt and strips of ginger... or make some hm ginger tea/soup (slice and bruise some ginger, boil with water for 10 mins or so, longer will give more kick, so it depends on how 'hot' you like it. add honey to taste. a milder version can be achieved by pouring boiling water over bruised slices of ginger and let it seep for some time, till the flavour is in the tea) or if you have a chinese grocery shop nearby, they probably do an instant version, just need to add boiling water!
my personal favourite comfort and nourishing food when I'm ill and have a queasy stomach is a savoury rice porridge (chinese/cantoese style) just boil some washed rice with lots of veg/fish/chicken stock or water (about 1 part rice to 4 - 6 parts water, depending on how thick you like your porridge). add in some bruised ginger slices (just to flavour, not to eat) bring to boil and simmer for 20 to 40 mins, stirring as you go, longer you simmer, the mushier and smoother it'll get. (sometimes I blend it to get it really smooth) season to taste, with salt or soy sauce, tiny dash of pepper and top with some chopped coriander and spring onions. bits of chicken, fish or lean/mince meat can be added in for more substance... or slithers of liver if you like. serve hot and slurp away!
let me know if you want more details about making this chinese/cantonese style rice porridge :-) hope your OH feels better soon!0 -

I used to get a migraine every month which would make me throw up. Once the worst was over, the first thing I could eat would be Tuc crackers or Malted Milk biscuits. Mint imperials also went down OK. Normally I'm quite a healthy eater, but at times like this you've just gotta have what you fancy. I don't think anything milky would be a good idea though.0
