slow payer want sgoods quickly (again)

This is just a general whinge really. Had a buyer bought a few bits and bobs from me just over a week ago, I sent a combined invoice and she responded to say that she didn't want to pay by paypal as it wasn't safe (I got the usual little lecture about how I shouldn't use it either).
I responded immediately pointing out that I take cheques and bank transfers and that all my details were on the email she replied on, didn't hear anything for a few more days. Then she emails again and says she needs the items posted 2nd May, so she would make a bank transfer.
I emailed her today to say no transfer as been received, and she now thinks she will send a postal order today, but reminding me she must have this stuff urgently.
Normally I would give up and just send the stuff to avoid a neg, but I think I will hold off in this case. My problem is that even sending 1st class today the earliest I can get her PO is tomorrow afternoon (I get my post well after lunch) which will be after I have been to the post office, so realistically can't post now until Thursday arghhhh.
Why does there appear to be a direct correlation between slow payment and requiring goods immediately?

I think its because they know the auction ended at one point and even tho they take ages to pay, they dont think they have, and so to them its just x amount of days since the end of the item.
What is the point in hanging on to pay for something when i buy something on ebay i pay asap normally after the auction or BIN but definitly with a few hours
I had 6 auctions ended on friday and 2 have still not paid, now i realise with the bank holiday some people might be away or using work email addresses for their ebay, but even thats not really an excuse as they could access their paypal and ebay accounts seperately. So frustrating:rolleyes: Democracy is a process by which the people are free to choose the man who will get the blame.:j0 -

An e mail explaining to her that goods are sent AFTER payment has cleared and that is the way that e bay works, would be a good move IMO.

Over 600 positives but 7 negs which put her down to 98%. All the negs were for no payments and no contact.
What gets me is that if she had sent a PO as soon as she BIN'd the last item a week ago I would have received it by now and sent her goods already. All these delays in her getting back to me, and wanting my address even though she had it already is strange behaviour .
I have decided that I will wait until I actually get the PO before I send her goods, if that means she doesn't get them in time then so be it, there is somehting not quite right about this one.
I think she just wound me up actually having a go about how reckless I am by using paypal and then not even bothering to attempt to pay for over a week.

If I want items quickly, I pay immediately and send a polite email pleading for early posting, if you don't have her payment cleared it's her problem if she doesn't get the items on time. You sound far too reasonable!!0

Re. "wanting my address"
I have noticed that ebay have added some text to the buyers payment instructions which says something like "check the seller address is correct".
This could be the reason for asking you for yours.0 -
She could be stalling you or has bidders/buyers remorse (even before she has paid and received the item!)
She moans about Paypal, doesn't pay using it.
She says she will do a BT and doesn't.
Says the item is needed urgently.
Whats the betting that the Postal Order will get lost in the post??;)
If the item was needed by today and she hasn't got it, why would she go out of her way to the PO to get postal orders, to send to you, for an item that she won't need any longer?
She's a pain in the backside and you probably won't ever get paid for it

In her mail to me this morning when she said she would try and get a PO off to me today she ended up by changing her deadline to 'needing the item no later than Thursday, otherwise it is no good'. She said she had thought it would need to be posted by today, but realised I could still post first thing tomorrow, and to her work address and not her home address (don't understand why it needs to go to her work address, it is a small item and will fit through a letter box).
I could therefore get her PO tomorrow afternoon (my post is late) but would have missed my posting out as I do that on my way to work in the morning.
I'm going to email her now and explain the problem and point out, as politely as I can. that if she had paid last week when she won the item she would have had it by now even if the post was slow.
What really puzzles me though is how do all those sellers who only post out once or twice a week manage with buyers like this, do they make a special trip, or just post out as normal and let the buyer worry that it will be late? I also wonder if the fact that the vast majority of my feedback mentions next day delivery that I am almost encouring people to expect immediate despatch. How do you others manage, do you post out every day to suit your buyers, or limit yourself to every other day or twice a week or something?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If someone specifically asks for an item in a hurry and has paid, I'll make a trip to the PO just for them.
If I have a batch of items which have sold, I'll probably make 2 trips to the PO in the week.
Touch wood, most buyers pay immediately by Paypal, and if not, they mail to say they are sending a cheque/P.O. so I'll know when about to expect them.
Luckily the PO is only a 10 minute walk from me, but God knows how people cope when they don't have a local PO!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Shes wanting it posting to her work address? Hmm, that often rings a bell with me, specially if the item would fit through the letterbox anyway! Is the works address near to her registered paypal address?Weight Loss - 102lb0
