Interestingly enough i emailed 3 customer support last week and this is the response they sent:
Many thanks for your query regarding a contract with 3.

In response to your query, the mobile number you supplied would be included within the cross-net minutes.

If you would like to speak to one of our advisors for further information on 3 services, you can call our Direct Sales Team on 0870 733 0376, who will be more than happy to assist you.

    Thank you for contacting 3.

    My original query
    Hello,

I am thinking of purchasing a 3 mobile on contract and would like to enquire if this number is considered a mobile and is inclusive of your cross-net minutes?

Any chance of forwarding a copy of said email from 3 - I had the same this AM on the phone to 3CS in India - the CS rep assured me 07744 was included in my allowance - when I said why hadn't my minutes left gone down his supervisor told me it was personal numbering service costing 50p / minute.

I asked where this was stated in the T&C - his reponse was to quote the special numbers table which doesn't mention it and also the condition that the allowance covers calls to UK landlines and mobiles only - he could give me no answer on how to identify whether numbers came into these categories or not.

SO I checked on the Ofcom website - which states all numbers starting 077, 078 and 079 are UK mobiles!
    I think....

07744 was on the now defunct Dolphin network, so I suppose there is an argument for saying it's no longer a mobile number. Though I believe 3 is the only network not to charge it as a mobile number.

just got of the phone with a 3 CS in india inquiring about being charged for calling the 07744974333.

after being put on hold for 5 mins the lady unequivocally stated that the above number is a personal number belonging to dolphin and there is absolutely nothing they can do about it therefore ill be liable to pay for the calls @ 50p a min.

so 3 is out of the window,

anybody know of any other networks that allows it in its inclusive xnet mins! as i call overseas a lot and might be worth splashing on a new contract,
