Left it a bit late in the day but.. moving house in 2 days to another county.
Currently have BT landline
Orange broadband
Talktalk calls
What i wanted to do was get the Orange package and put the landline, broadband and calls all with orange at the new address.
But it seems that you have to have an active BT line for 48 hrs before requesting orange transfer the broadband. Not sure i understand this as doesn't that mean i would have to sign up for a long term contract with BT at the new address?!
Id be stuck with them for a period of time and couldn't ditch them in favour of orange?
I also, in anticipation of sorting this out today, emailed BT last night to tell them to cancel the account at this address as from thursday.
Confused now.

Never mind.. all sorted. I got through to someone who could understand english finally and they have arranged everything.. new number and transfer ect.
Shame it looks like a 12 month contract and she said under the distance selling regs i would only be able to cancel the day before and once it's started with the contract i wouldn't be able to cancel without incurring fees for the remaining term. I i guess that means i'll have to wait 12 months before transfering orange on the landline.. ho humNever sign anything!0 -
