I've now had a "Rolling Reserve" applied to my account so that Paypal is keeping back 10% of all my monies for a period of time. Anyone have any information on this? What is it? How long might it continue? To be honest I'm a little pi*sed off about it so any insight would be helpful.

My paypal account also has a rolling reserve on it. Basically Paypal think that the few things I have sold in the past make me 'high risk' so just in case I get any chargebacks of disputes opended against me they're going to keep 15% of all money that goes into my Paypal account for a period of 90 days. After the 90 days is up then I can withdraw that 15% to my account.

Your rolling reserve sounds a little different to mine i.e. 10% instead of 15%, so the length of your rolling reserve might be shorter than mine.

Its very annoying but thats the way paypal operate. They're the strangest (and worst) company I've dealt with. Sometimes I wonder whether their employees get bonuses for the more people they p*ss off!!!!!

    Anyway, hope that helps!
  • Maybe mine is 15% too rather than 10%. It's the principle of the thing that is pis*ing me off. Is there anything at all stopping me from closing my Paypal account and operating my ebay business out of another Paypal account?

When you opened a new one Paypal would link your details to the original account and may even stop you having a Paypal account as it would look like your trying to do something Underhand

They'll get you under the misuse of the paypal system and ban you for good.
