Paypal - Limited Account - How Long?

Options
My Paypal account has been limited for the last 10 days. All information requested was provided 8 days ago. How long should I expect it to remain limited? Is there anything I can do to hurry it along? I have already phoned once.

keep ringing them, they limit so many accounts at once that they are inundated with calls demanding the release of money every day, unfortunately if you sit back and wait that often means things take much longer as those that complain get dealt with first.....

If it goes beyond 3 weeks you might want to consider stronger action but for now just keep ringing and demanding action, ask to be put through to executive escalations though as the monkeys answering the phone are paid to ignore you so they won't do anything for you.

The thing with Paypal you need to keep at them. Keep emailing and phoning until it happens. I assume this was because you didn't lift your limits? I know this doesn't help you but I would advise anyone who hasn't to lift there paypal limits. Just click on 'limits' in your paypal account. Its far easier to do them earlier than trying to sort it out after they have locked your account.

My sister had hers limited for 3 months and still is. they limited my account (2 of mine pre mier and personal) now they have all the info but wont lift the limitation says I owe them money but wont say what for, when for or what paypal account. As if Im going to pay them money just cos they say I owe it without proof

Paypal are useless so good luck. Your going to get a massive headache I can promise you that though

I've heard stories of 6 months. Don't sit back and wait for it to sort itself out. It won't.

it a nnoys me how you have to have paypal on the listing as they say its the safe option. its not! the amount of people Ive heard about sending things then having their money frozen or refunded is silly

how long have your accounts been frozen and how much is in them?

you don't have to sit around waiting for paypal you can claim via the county court, i have posted details previously here about using the threat of county court action o release money from frozen paypal accounts.

Frankly you can't lose, without going into the legal intricacies of how paypal have no legal rights to freeze money or hold funds to ransom (it's still extortion even when a multi billion pound company does it) the reason you will win is because paypal, with no real authority, are holding your money because they allege you owe them money on a separate account, here's the problem, the onus is on them at all times to prove the existence of a debt if they want to pursue it and paypal are flat refusing to prove the existence of the debt even refusing to give you basic details of the account, for that reason alone there is not a court in the land that won't demand they return your money immediately.......they can only do what they are doing for as long as you allow it. Pm me if you want some further help.

I had an email last week saying my account had been limited . It had a link to rectify the matter . Needless to say I did not go through the link but logged into them direct . Nothing showing in my account that I had been limited . So took it as spoof. Did forward it to Paypal but never got a reply. It looked real enough .
Never pay more than you have too

Thought I'd have a look at raising limits in account overview, but I can't see a button on my account overview to click on to access it. Where exactly is it, or is it only on some accounts? I hate looking like an idiot, but I'm having more trouble with this than I usually do.
  • I just wanted to add an update to say that my Paypal account was unfrozen yesterday. I did as advised and phoned every day, twice a day, and let them know that I would continue to phone twice a day for updates. Good advice - did the trick!
  • I've now had a "Rolling Reserve" applied to my account so that Paypal is keeping back 10% of all my monies for a period of time. Anyone have any information on this? What is it? How long might it continue? To be honest I'm a little pi*sed off about it so any insight would be helpful.
