o2 broadband

Hi everyone
Am about to move house and am seeing it as an excellent opportunity to end my 10-year-plus association with AOL, who have slowly driven me up the wall.
I am considering using o2 or BT broadband.
My question as far as o2 goes is this - they offer a discount if you are with o2 for mobile phones. I am considering moving to them from Vodafone but want to check out the coverage of both at the new house before I make a decision to change. If I sign up for o2 broadband I will pay the higher rate initially, but do they reduce it if I take out an o2 contract or PAYG phone later on?
I can't find the answer to this anywhere.
Cheers,
Em

If you are not an O2 customer allready, then you will pay the full charge, discount is existing customer only. So easy option is switch to O2 first, just needs a PAYG account, needs topping up every 3 months with £10 though.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

Just get a free (it really is free BTW ie no charge -just for the people who say "free" 50 times a day) O2 SIM, register it and then when you go for the ADSL login with your SIM account info. They'll ask a few extra details but that's it. It'll all link automatically.
Have your phone (ie SIM) with you when registering online as they text a code to you.

I find 02 customer services really helpful. I got the phone shortly after broadband and they reduced the rate with no problem. They even apologised for charging the full amount.
If you want a contract phone, quidco is offering £35 i believe.
If you're not sure ring them on 0800 230 0202.0 -
Thanks to all of you, really helpful advice.
Never even thought of just getting a free sim card - what a good idea!

You can get the discount by registering an O2 mobile number at time of sign up, or any time afterwards. But remember that if you only have a PAYG SIM,you must top up £10 in every quarter to get the discount.
Quidco saving is currently £50, and O2 have improved the sign up offer from 2 months free to 3 months today.
That makes the average 1st year monthly cost just £1.34 for the Standard service.
But remember you must be on an O2 LLU exchange to get this rate-don't sign up for the O2 Access package whatever you do.No free lunch, and no free laptop
