Hi there. We've all seen laptops given for free with mobile 3G broadband tarrifs (free as in included in the cost of course) but I wondered if anyone knew any good deals with home broadband (ie ADSL) where a free laptop is offered?
Thanks

Hi All, I am looking for the same thing. As jonnyguitar hassaid I can only see the "mobile bb" free laptop offers available. I suppose the cost of home broadband is so low these days its not worth while them offering a free laptop/ps3 etc.0

As crazypete hints towards, these deals aren't great and ADSL ain't that expensive nowadays. wayne.g's Carphone Warehouse (talktalk or AOL) deal of £20 with a 'free' laptop mightn't look too bad. But when you consider that you're locked in for at least 24 months, and that you can get BB with the same speed and cap for £10 per month, you're spending an extra £10x24=£240 for that 'free' laptop. And just because their site says the laptop is worth £400, doesn't mean it is. Search the internet for the real price, and that £240 could go a long way towards a laptop that you can actually choose for yourself!0

Wayne - I rang AOL/CW today and was informed the offer closed in March
If you find what your looking for then please post on here as I'm interested too.0 -
A company called RedTenInternet tried this a while back - very tempting sounding offers, but the whole thing turned into an absolute disaster (just search the forum to find out).
It is possible to use credit to copy the "free laptop" concept (given that we all know the use of the word free here is a load of rubbish).
Plusnet offer the cheapest stand-alone broadband if you're in a LLU area for just £5.99 per month. You can use most conventional credit methods to pay for a laptop and end up with a "do it yourself" broadband and laptop package.
If credit ratings prevent the more competitive lines of credit, Littlewoods, who generally approve credit a little more easily than certain credit card companies, can offer a laptop over 36 months at £13.32 a month (or £3.07 per week as they describe it) - there is 8% cashback on the order via Quidco, they offer a cashback system themselves (which would be 5% for new customers). Basically, for under £20 a month you can get a laptop and broadband this way.
However, even looking at this way, you are paying through the nose for credit to get the laptop, but you are getting a laptop and broadband for under £20 per month. I wouldn't use the word free to describe any of it though.
So, a laptop and broadband for under £20 per month is possible.
Is it worth it? Another question.0
