Many thanks to OP - got both delivered this week.

Ony problem is that there was no instuction booklet with the TV powerdown and I'm not sure if you have to do anything to get the remote element to work. Is it as simple as plugging it in and it "reads" your TV and other remotes?

Plug just the TV into the top socket , the rest into the socket on the right side called Peripheral (anything that needs power on all the time can go in the socket on the left side)
    1. Press and hold down the Sensor Button
    2. when the light appears on the sensor press and release the Tv remote controls Power on button once , then release the Sensor button . The light should start to flash
    3. Press and release your Tv Remotes Power On button a second time . The light should flash quicker.
    4. Press your remote contorls Poer On button a third time and the light should go out
    5. Point the remote at the sensor and press the power on button and your television should go onto standby. If at this stage the TV recieves a picture then skip the next step
    6. Use your remote to switch the TV onto any channel so that you get a picture
    7. Use the Tv remote to turn the TV off , after about 20 seconds the power to the TV and the peripherals will be turned off

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to give this info :T- obviously couldn't have sorted it without the instructions.

I was given an Eon TV Powerdown for free-at a community fair.

    It works a treat!
  • Many thanks for instructions. I have used the TV powerdown for a while now but just bought a new TV and it was annoying switching on with old remote then using new remote. Thanks again.
