Now, when I want a bargain I usually bid on items that are due to finish during the week, usually during the day. It seems quieter then so less competition. I never bid on something (Unless it's rare to find the item) at the weekend.

When we list items we have them finish around 11am Sunday mornings. It seems that alot of our customers like to peruse ebay at that time. We have tried listings endings at different times/days but sunday mornongs work best for our market.

Found my poll here for you:

Seems to suggest Thursday/Sunday finish for best results.
  • Thanks very much - looks like I will be busy listing tonight for a 10 day run. I'll give it a go - normally do 3 or 5 but not much luck.

Great feedback! Will let you know how I get on!

I end all my auctions on a sunday afternoon (Lunchtime), why this is? Does anyone work on a Sunday, you might say no and why not end in the morning becuase most people have a lay in lol.
    Kind Regards

Well all listed up now - took me a while so probably 10pm finish could be too late - lets see!!

I also tend to end my listing at a time when there's nothing to watch on TV. Sunday 8pm - 9pm dont usually have any good programmes on so for me it's a good time to end. However, that is not always the case so I usually rely on a tv guide

  • I've heard that friday afternoons are good for impulse buys as you catch people skiving the last 1/2 hour of work and shopping on ebay instead. But I suppose it depends mainly on what you are selling. Personally I find Monday nights the best, seconded by Wednesday nights, but I rarely list in the day as I'm a night owl
