I agree that I would still fight this one, I certainly wouldn't make it easy for the buyer. I have had a couple of issues myself over the weekend actually with partial addresses, one on Amazon where it just says something like:
    AA Electronics
    Unit 3
    Swindon
    AA3 4BW

When i input the post code to the Royal Mail address finder it brings up a long residential road with house numbers and a google search shows houses and no industrial estate or anything. The only thing I cna add to the address is a customer name as although it doesn't show on the Amazon despatch note the email contact details show a Mrs Edwards.

The ebay one has replied to me, that was a completely missing number on a confirmed and OK to send paypal purchase. It just said something like:
    Liberty Road
    SwindonAA3 4BW

The buyer said 'whoops' I keep forgetting to correct my paypal address as it should be number 120. (The ebay address is a completely different town so no help at all)

I don't know why customers find it so difficult to know where they live!

some people do this so buyers think they are dealing with a bricks & mortar business rather than run from home set up

Luckily my buyer got back to me so I was able to correct the address and post this afternoon. Apparently she wanted the book sent to her work address but guessed the post code (she seemed to think it was amusing that she couldn't remember where she worked). After my email she checked and realised she was a couple of digits wrong, she also remembered the name of the Industrial Estate and the road name so I had a much fuller address.

I just hope she likes the book now, I don't have happy feelings about this one but luckily it was only a £1 book.

  • Never mind a refund- I'd be tempted to invoice them for second order as well. :D
Sadly it probably wouldn't get far.

We recently had a buyer who bought an item, paid fine, but when we went to print the postage they hadn't included their postcode

We refunded- rather lose the £1 or so in fees if we have to (too dumb to put a postcode on a address, probably too dumb for a mutual) than lose stock.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

    I love this idea!!!
There is no way they would pay but if they try to push it further (and keep up their nasty tone) I can say at least I am not invoicing you for the second order sent to you! May make them think twice lol
