600 metres is not too far.... :)

    Thats what i am thinking.
If anything 600metres is seriously close and the speed should be excellent.

I am 1.5miles from the exchange. I also use O2 for BB and get a constant 11mb.

Hey boss, i will be in the same boat as you. I have waited 3 weeks for a BT engineer to come and install a line in my rented flat which they will do this week. I too am looking at going with o2 for broadband using the cashback offer.

I just spoke to BT and they said you should wait at least 5 working days after your line has been activated before you should start ordering broadband products so registration and the like can go through all the correct channels.

You haven't said how long you've had the line so i don't know if this helps.

Best of luck, let us know how it goes. I too only got this line for the internet so will not be best pleased if I have the same problem!!

Thanks for all your advice, I went and had a look in the phone book for phone numbers near me and found a few showing 7mb on o2 just the next street away on the same exchange I am. I called o2 and let them know and they agreed to override the system and connect me. As o2 give a 30 money back guarantee I should be ok even if it doesn't work out.

Only bad thing, as I am not sure if I will still get my quidco cashback, o2 said that I should contact them with my full reference number from my order and tell them about the problem I had with the o2 website and hopefully they can sort out my cashback. I emailed both quidco and topcashback and now just waiting on a answer.

I will keep you guys updated thanks again for your help.

Well thats me got o2 broadband in and after getting told that I was to far away from the exchange, the first thing I wanted to do was get a speed test done

    Download speed was 5.7mb
    upload speed was 1mb

One thing I have learnd from this is dont listen to o2 or bt when they tell you that you can get broadband. check it out for your self.

Only bad thing for me now is I lost out on my £50 cashback from TopCashBack because o2 and bt messed up but im still glad its working.

    Thanks again for the help
