hi all- i have a load of music on my pc which is mostly in wma format. i would like to convert it to mp3, so that i can put it onto my mp3 player... has anyone any advice on how to convert the files, as i don't have a clue!!

sorry - forgot to add- do i have to convert each song individually, or can they be done en mass, as it were???

First off,to ask what might seem a silly question.....are you sure your mp3 player doesn't already support wma format,a substantial number do?0

Go here http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ and download dBPoweramp and install it.
Then go here http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-wma.htm and download the WMA v9.1 Codec Release and install it and the program will convert any number of files that you select.0 -
i use db power amp found http://www.dbpoweramp.com
it will convert just about any format to any format and yes you can do batches at a time0 -

Is there no way you can re-encode the tracks using the original cd's?
Transcoding from WMA to mp3 (ie from one lossy format to another) can result in quality loss due to the way the algorithms work for each codec."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

This free piece of software (Cheetah audio converter) works really well converting between a lot of different formats :-
