Sent my application in at the end of June (a paper application), have not received ANY correspondence from them whatsoever, have been on line and told my application is approved, but I have not received any confirmation of what I am to receive and when, cannot get through on the telephone at all so am totally confused about the whole thing, although my husband has received a log in from them today, but I never did. There are letters on my log in saying that they have sent stuff to me in the post, but cannot open the GIF files. Is anyone else that frustrated about it, am a mature student and really cannot afford to be without any money at the start of the course
You get your schedule payment letter around 2 weeks before you start.
Best bet, is to try and open the GIF files. Whats happening when you try? (if you are using internet explorer, right click on the link - Save file as, save it in My Documents, then open it in Paint)0 -
Looks like the story has finally hit the papers http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/education/student/article6820793.ece & http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/education/student/article6831669.ece
It seems that some don't even have the basic loans in place, let alone the grants, but they seem to think everything will be in place in the next week. We shall see!0 -
Having applied in April DS begins his course tomorrow with no funding as SFE haven't sorted his application out...his landlors said he'll wait but I'm not sure how long for. The whole application and website is a shambles, when I called them at the end of Aug they gave me misinformation after waiting on hold for 50 mins. They said they were only just opening mail from the 1st week of Aug! What a mess0

Sending by special delivery makes no difference i sent my documentation p60s child tax credit form in this way and my daughters birth cert and paper forms. They all went in the same envelope. They sent back the birth cert and my proof of earnings .Yet they say they havnt received the rest of the evidence hw can they not have it when it was all sent in the same envelope.therefore now we have only got the tuition fees loan and maintenence loan and no grant each time i ring i get a different answer from the staff. some say the evidence is there and hasnt been prcessed and others say it has never been recieved and that myself and my husband are not attached to my daughters applcation which was sent on 1/060

I've not tried to contact them or anything, I was trying to be patient but maybe I should contact them to see if they have received the P60's?
Hi I feel the same too cos I sent mine in by normal post in june for my son, he has had the none income based letter telling him what he will get because of not having the evidence this was back in early aug, I have told him to ring them and see if they have the P60 because if it has been lost I can get a copy of one from my wages dep, but he hasnt bothered ringing them yet. Reading this thread though it seems like there are loads of us in the same boat:rolleyes:I luv freebies0 -
I haven't sent anything to Student Finance Special Delivery. Seems like it makes no difference either way with them - if they're going to lose it, they'll lose it when you spent 36p (or however much stamps are these days) or a fiver.
