Thanks for the good wishes MSD, I'm fine today.
I'm late logging on today, I'm having a problem with my pc, it won't wake up once it goes into sleep mode, mind you I know how it feels, I often don't want to wake up. I'm feeling sick at the thought of going back to work, which is not like me at all.
I spent most of yesterday sewing & so will have a whole new (to me) wardrobe of clothes to wear when I go back.
Today I shall clean & vac round & with only 2 of us it should say clean til next weekend & will only need a swish & a swipe throughout the week.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Hope you are all well, didn't manage to get on here at all yesterday, Hope you are all well.

Ended up at a barbeque yesterday, so no cooking for me. Taking DS swimming later. It's dry and sunny/cloudy here. Washing is on the line. Definitely smells like autumn though. Love this time of year and the way it smells.

HM pizza for tea I think.

    Have a good day all

    Morning All

Having a lazy morning today, hence the late posting. Quite tired as had a hetic but brilliant day yesterday. Walking with dinosaurs was very good then ended into the west end for dinner and a mooch around the shops round covent garden. Also spent some time in the trocadero centre & the kids were very happy.

So today will just be pottering about. The temperature is up though cloudy at the moment - washing basket seems to have filled itself again so aim to get some washing done as its office day tomorrow.

Have some steak for dinner tonight, was meant to be a barbeque but we will see. Have quite a few bits of barbeque stuff in the freezer so will be nice if I can use that up.

Might do some ironing (not too much there) or might have a really relaxing day as it is Bank Holiday :D

Have a great Bank Hol Monday.x
  • Good morning everyone

Spent a lovley day in the garden yesterday. DH has been doing some digging to create a seating area, and insert a mowing strip around the edges of the lawn. He came across the well, which would have been built in Victorian times when the house was built :j We're both delighted, as we've been hoping to find the well. It's not in an ideal spot, but we're intending to open it out and make a feature of it :T

We're going to have a walk at Brimham Rocks today. We're taking a picnic of HM rolls, HM pork pate, fruit and HM banana and carrot cake. We may finish off with a cup of tea at Fountains Abbey tea rooms :T

We'd planned beef for supper, but have been invited to friends to celebrate exam results (so the beef will keep until tomorrow ;) ).

    Penny. x

Hello all, grey day here in Perranporth.

I have Mr T delivering this morning and then I shall be batch cooking for the rest of the day. Will be doing two recipies from Economy Gastronomy:-

Beef mince will be done on the hob. I will portion this up and freeze it. And boiled ham will be done in the slow cooker to have for tea tonight.

    Have a great day everyone

Update 1300: Ham in the slow cooker - having a cuppa before facing the beef mince.

    Morning everyone!

It's drizzly and miserable here, really feels like autumn. I love autumn though so I'm not entirely unhappy!

Today is going to be soup making day. I bought corn on the cob, parsnips and tomatoes on offer in the supermarket yesterday, so will be making big batches of soups to freeze for lunchboxes. Made a load of Twinks Hobnobs yesterday also for lunchboxes, but not sure they will last that long...

Opened the HM plum jam and lemon curd this morning at breakfast, the lemon curd is out of this world (even if I do say so myself :o), the plum jam is a bit too over set (I thought it might be as I had to leave it for a minute as my eldest fell off his bike) but it still tastes yummy. Also had my first batch of Easi-Yo yoghurt, yum!

Also very happy as I have finished the first of my little lavender bags that I am making as a birthday present for my friend. They are very simple: a little sack shape made out of red gingham, with a cross stitch heart on the front, filled with lavender and then tied with ribbon, but they are very effective. Am also cracking on with my eldest's knitted Footballer for Christmas, have knitted the body and am now knitting its clothes. Now the nights are drawing in it's a perfect time for crafting!

Bitsy Beans well done to your little one for taking her first steps! :T

Hope you all have a good day x

Typing one-handed today as I managed to nearly slice my index finger in half yesterday:eek: I was trying to change the cooker hood filter and the metal bit slipped and impaled itself on my hand! Bit sore, to say the least.

Had a lovely day down near Hastings yesterday visiting my sis in her new cottage. She has a blackberry hedge bordering her back garden so guess what I am doing today. Hmmm - wine or jam? Lovely pub lunch - the biggest plate of scampi and chips you have ever seen. Much to sis's embarassment, I asked for a doggy bag:D and the springy spangles had a wonderful tea. Jess spat the lemon slices out though (whoops, forgot they were in there!)

A warm but grey day here so will potter in the garden putting everything back in place. After much soul searching I have decided not to proceed with the house move. I'm not sure I can go through another three months like the last six and the fact that I feel so relieved that we can stay tells me that I am doing the right thing. Will have to sort out school bus tomorrow and hope that DD can still have a place. She is thrilled that she is staying in the village with all her friends so happy bunnies all round.

Plan to spend a lovely day in the kitchen freezer cooking - I had run the freezer down to nowt in preparation for the move so now need to stock it up again. Likewise, food cupboards:rolleyes:

    Have a lovely day

Still around and lurking on the edges... OS start to the day with my usual 'sailor's shower' (turn water on, wet, turn water off, lather, turn water on, rinse, turn water off) and am wondering why it takes me longer to dry myself than it does to wash myself?

    ;)
