Not done much flying today but have sent it with the children.

Strangely enough when I was looking for my smurf I saw that one and did think of you ;)

  • Well done on the weight loss :T

Thanks - though I don't think I can keep up with that amount of walking (unless I can just spend my life at festivals!)

I have some good news. I have a new job :j:j:j Same organisation, but at HQ. Also, DD did really well in her exams, 5 1s and 3 3s. And DD started a part time job on Sunday, working at Easter Road (where Hibs play for the footie fans amongst us:D) selling pies and bovril. I'll be rich!!

Wow! Congrats to you all :T :T :T

Why are we all looking for smurfs  and how do you know what is what  I'm getting more and more confused as so many avatars look so similar now :o

I managed to get some washing dry, some is out on the line and will hopefully be dry by the morning, and some is still waiting to be washed. I can still smell campfires

Re rolling in nasties. Rub tomato sauce into the dogs coat while wet massage in for a minute then shampoo off. The smell will be gone. Re fleas buy a dog flea collar and replace every three months you can also add garlic to the dogs diet as the fleas hate that!

Thanks for this! I'll tell my mum about the ketchup & garlic - we can't use a flea collar as she's a working dog (and also has an electric collar to keep her in the garden) so doesn't wear a collar. However, she already has program and will probably be frontlined or similar tomorrow! The fleas are BIG - normally they get little back rabbit fleas that sit on the end of their ears waiting to jump back onto the next rabbit. These are big brown fleas that run about. I still feel itchy :o

Right, I am beginning to be convinced and will get on to them tomorrow. Something is better than nothing to them, I am sure. :D

If you're feeling bad about it, call each of the charities and let them know that you're cancelling/reducing your DDs due to personal circumstances, but will reinstate them as and when things change, and in the meantime, please could they not cal/write to you asking why/for increases etc as you're upset enough about it as it is (and it would be a waste of money).

Haven't read the thread yet but does anyone know when the notice period starts re redundancy - is it when you are first told you will be made redundant or after the third consultation?

Sorry this is not related to flying!

I see Hex & Jennybee have already answered this. If you have an employee or union rep, it's worth talking to them as they should be able to help. Also keep asking your management/HR teams to explain the process in writing and clarify things. Our dates were delayed significantly due to our reps making the management team do everything properly every time they tried to cut corners... so much so that I am the only person who was terminated in August as they moved the dates to the end of September and I had to ask for an August date! As a result, my paperwork has been a shambles, but hopefully it will be sorted out for everyone else as a result...

soappie - sorry to hear about your DD... but you did say you were worried you might be lonely ;)

jo - glad to hear you enjoyed your first day in the new job

3tabbycats - no more cake pics yet. I'm waiting for people to email them to me.

pigpen - I can't believe you're keeping secrets from us :p what's with the name change on FB?

    Triker, Toots & L-L - I hope you've all been resting!

I'm home now - everything seems to be OK, although it needs a S&S throughout. And I need to do a thorough spider check :o. Boiler service between 10 & 12 tomorrow, then I have to work out how I'm going to get to Staines for 4.30ish, as I have a lift back, but can't get a lift there...

People keep thinking I am his sister so I added my maiden name.. nothing too sinister lol I am considering removing his name altogether but think that might be a bit drastic for the children of mine on there.. they may think i am trying to deny them.

I only keep secret the things I know will upset you delicate flowers or that will give you cause to nag me.. :p:p:p:p

Bet its more of the latter than the former :p

Trying to decide what cake courses I want to do... they've just released the next set of dates and most of the ones I want to do aren't on Saturdays . I don't want to use up holiday... I need to decide what to spend the training money on really and get it booked...

Suppose I should go to bed now

Hi there, sorry I'm late joining the thread this week. I'm still flying! I redecorated DS's room last week so there has been a HUGE amount of decluttering going on. The carpet man came today to lay the new bedroom carpet so hopefully we can now get DS moved from the old room into the new room. It has been costly but well worth it. In his own words it is now 'sophisticated but still cool' so I couldn't wish for a better result. :D Curtains need to go up (horrible job - makes my arms ache) and then we need to move his bed.

As far as the rest of the house goes, when we have moved him into the new room I can rediscover the landing and the other half of my room, so flying is limited until then. My kitchen, however, still gleams!

Take care all. I may even post a picture when we've finished.

    Morning All

Well my delivery that was coming today between 7 and 7 arrived yesterday. I haven't told the kids that was the delivery though so they won't be mithering me to go out and I can get some things done. I've got the kitchen and my bedroom to do today to catch up - my bedroom will take some doing though - it's too small for the amount of stuff in it!

SSL - fab news on your new job and well done to your DD.

    Have a good day all
