hi all, i felt i should make a response as i was the one who started this post... ive ordered from bangzo a few times now and all the books ive got have been fine; in good condition with all pages and no marks, fair enough it may depend on how old the stock is, but at the end of the day it is classed as a 'free' book, so its the chance we all have to take unfortunatley, possibly if its a relatively new book i would imagine that they will be alright in quality as they wont have been in the warehouse too long. like i said they are only advertised as free and not as a high quality product.
anyway... i digress, i feel quite happy with the service and quality of the products, but if i did recieve a poor quality product i most likely would not continue to use them maybe some of you should just take this on the chin and not choose to use this website in the future?:j August: 2x Grand Designs Live Tickets, Royal Mint Mini Medal, Ice Age 3 Watch
I am overworked and underpaid and am going slightly mad because of it!! :j0 -
But if you are a business you need premises, storage, insurance, staff wages, tax, national insurance, benefits (sick pay, holidays), fire extiguishers, toilets etc etc.
I can't imagine anyone would make money on this.
Free advertising and goodwill - yes.
Profit after overheads - I have my doubts.
The point is, they're "giving away" these books because they know no-one will buy them. So, they're freeing up space in their warehouse(s), and making a profit on the P+P at the same time. After all, how many of the people that have claimed their "free" book would have bought it if the postage had been a quid cheaper, but the book cost 99p?Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

I agree with you steve and dave.
I think some people get sucked in to paying for things they don't really want because they are "free".
I never buy anything unless it's a geunine bargain and something I would definitely use or give.
With ebay I always look at the total price.
I'm sure some people do get sucked in, but if it's genuinely something you want or can save on gifts then it's a bargain.
If I save on gifts then on the whole I tend to spend more on the person so they get better gifts rather than pocket the savings. So I pass on the savings to my friends/family, but I would never give them junk just cos it's cheap.0 -
