  • I'm worried I'm going to have to open mine in a few weeks :o I started a new job at the end of August and due to when i started I won't get paid until October 16th. Parking/petrol etc are so expensive that I'm fast running out of money. I REALLY don't want to open it though!

    Hi FWJ,
Don't worry about breaking into your pot, at least you've got it there to break into, otherwise you'd be scraping around trying to find the cash. I f you do use it, we'll always be here and we're very forgiving :rotfl:

    Hi
Just wonder if i could join your challenge please!

well had a jar of mixed coins just sitting on the side, so after reading this thread i took it to sainsburys were they have one of them coinstar machines and i got.... £28.04. Very surprised as mostly coppers.

I got home and decided to seal the jar (as hubby usually raides jar for £ or 50ps!) and made a lil RAINY DAY FUND sticker.
i found £1.90 in a pair of hubby jeans so that went in and i put a £2 back in from the £28.04. The other £26 is going towards credit card.

So £3.90 in new sealed jar x
    Thanx for the inspiration x

    Hi bearacus,
Welcome to the sealed pot challenge, Sue-UU will be along later to allocate you a membership number, then you'll officially be in the gang. :D

Just to let you know, the coinstar machines relieve you of 8% of YOUR money, just for the fact that they counted it for you. if you have a HSBC account and a large branch, they ahve the same machine, don't charge, and the cash goes straight into your account ;)

Don't forget to put your members number into your siggy, and when you count your pot on 1st Dec, to post the total on here, we're trying to get a running total of all the pots, and I'm the official counter upperrer :D

Have fun saving, but try to steer clear of coinstar machines :p

    Hi all,

Sorry I haven't been on here for ages - since I started working nights I don't seem to have time to do anything!!

I've still been putting money in my pot tho (well it's actually a big whisky bottle!!) and it's just over halfway full and very heavy too!!

I'm off work poorly and I'm finding it hard to resist the temptation to count it to see how much is in there!!!!

I hope everyone is ok and I promise to get on here more often

I'm only going to open it if I find i have a few pennies left :rotfl:I have no idea how much is in it...at a guess i'd hope at least £100, but i'm resisting the temptation to count it as it is 'extra' money that I 'don't really have'. It's nice to know it's there if i need it but I'm going to make sure i don't open it unless i get into dire straits :o

Hi well I said I'd update you on the food shop total! I've been making bread and will need more milk but my total for the month is £66.08 so £73.92 under my usual so far to say I'm chuffed is an understatement. Cc paid today too with last weeks extra spend too.

  • Evening all, a wet, tired and smelly Stunty reporting in. I've been ordered into the bath so only a flying visit for now. Plenty of roadkill out there today. Yay.
