Hi everyone, i am new on here and have been browsing the DFW section and came across this post.
Sealed money tins are such a brilliant idea, and i only wish i could do that, i have a son with behaviour problems and he gets a can opener and steals the money out of them, any alternative suggestions???

How about using an empty tin of beans and put a reusable lid on it then put it at the back of the tin cupboard, not sure if he'll look in there but worth a go? Or you could use a sealed tin and hide it in one of your kitchen cupboards??

Hello and a warm welcome to the thread rethink and mollycat29, it's great to meet you both. Enjoy yourselves here while you enjoy putting the fun into saving.
You'll find your numbers at the bottom of the list on post 2 of page 1. It's a good idea to put it on your signature and certainly helps me to help you at the end of the year. If you haven't already done so then read through posts 1 & 2 as it'll help you with any queries. Any other queries, just ask away!
mollycat29 would it perhaps make it easier if you started a second pot just for your little lad?? It just might help him have a little responsibility as well as teach him to value his money and it's worth. I agree with the others about you hiding your pot. Good luck with him, it must be hard at times.
Well done on giving him the fiver back TheBees!

Why did you just try singing the two songs above?

Me too Helen, though I'll bet if truth was known, most of us did, just you and I that admitted it!! :A:A

WOW LC, are you ok?? Stupid question, but I hope it's not too painful for you. Would it be too awful of me to suggest more water with it next time - would it??!:rolleyes:ruby_Eskimo wrote:I'm failing miserably at this challenge, I think I might have to just admit defeat and start again next year
Hey, come on Ruby, keep at it, no matter how little it is. It's not a race so there's no competition...which is just as well as I'm not doing so well lately either - BUT - even 10 - 20p a week's better than nowt. Aside from that we'd miss you!
Darn good idea Jordan!:T
Hiya stunty! By heck it seems just 5 minutes ago that we were on the original thread. Dear old Sgt Saver, bless him. BTW. The link is on the 1st page of this thread if you need it....and if tis the same one we're both talking about!
Have a good Friday folks and look forward to the weekend!!

Little Chicken - you fell over and broke your jaw, yet you see a positive AND manage to jump up and down? You are amazing!!:Truby_eskimo wrote: »I'm failing miserably at this challenge, I think I might have to just admit defeat and start again next year
ruby_eskimo - no way are you going anywhere! Hang on in there, you'll feel so much better for carrying on rather than giving up, I can guarantee you will have managed to save more than me when it's all counted up, stick around and I'll prove it to you. Plus, if you quit now, where are you going to put any more roadkill?:DHad another lucky find at the washing machine again.
What is it with everybody finding money at the washing machine? Why don't I ever find any money?, I know, it's cos hubby isn't allowed any so I have it all already!:rotfl:
Welcome to the newbies, enjoy yourselves, and well done everybody for managing to put something into their pots. I haven't managed anything for a couple of days so I haven't had any Twinnies.
Stunty, your Sgt Saver is fandabbydozy, I love the shoulder stripes!
Have a good Friday everybody, the weekend is almost here.
