Crikey JD you never fail to inspire me, loaf in the breadmaker already!
Does logging onto here before doing anything count?!
Lodger moved in last night bringing quite a bit of food etc, so going to do weeks menu planner in a bit then go to tescos for meat & veg:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Well it's not exactly a DFW action - more like a BFW (Book-Free Wannabe !!) action, loads of books to sort through and then put up on Amazon the ones I don't want...........hopefully better than a Car Boot.
I better go and start sorting..............0 -
Well my plans for a nice walk somewhere in the sun have been scuppered thanks to weather, its P'ing it down here and has been for last 40 mins
We have been invited to BF parents for dinner later, so that will save me cooking and any £s, but apart from that Its just house work and ironing!

Not ventured out yet, so no money-spending opportunities!
Spent the last hour reviewing debt repayments and bank account and am pleasantly surprised that I have more "spare" money than is usual at this point in the month (payday is three weeks' away). I might go mad and have a grilled tomato with my MSE beans on toast today! :rotfl:
Logging off to do a pile of ironing and then clean the bathroom - wahey! What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
Didn't get up till....ooooh late....so that has stopped me spending any money! I am still in my PJ's actually
Am going off in a moment to do some DIY pampering.....pedicure, facial and deep condition my hair all with things I already have. That will keep me busy for a while and out of trouble. Will then have a long luxurious shower and use a body sponge with massage pad thingy on it so hopefully I will feel a million dollars later. Shame I won't look it though
Am making a soup for dinner today to be served with a loaf of wholegrain/seeded bread I picked up cheap & froze a while ago so that will be cheap. I am attempting to make the broccoli & apple soup that appears on the OS recipe thread. Wish me luck!!!
Edit: oh and I will do some QuidCo search things as well for a few more pennies!
Have a good day everyone.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010

Had a productive day considering it is a bank holiday.
Phoned up Telewest and changed my phone/internet/tv package for a cheaper one. Saving £28 a month now.
Phoned up Tax credits place (surprised it was open) arranged to have tax credits paid into my new account set up for all my direct debits to come out of. Should make things easier and stop both accounts getting overdrawn at certain times of the month.
Phoned Capital One and asked them if I could have a 0% on balance transfers rate. They said no, so I cancelled the card.
Upped my Egg card credit limit and balance transfered some money from another credit card.
Just having lunch now, eating the last of my HM bread. OH is putting things in the breadmaker to make another loaf. Lots of tutting and bad words. Hope it turns out ok!
After lunch I will review what shopping we need for the rest of the week. Have enough dinners in the freezer. Just need some more fruit/milk/butter etc.
Feeling pleased with myself now, as it feels as if we are getting somewhere. Even though we'll still be in debt for the next billion yearsBut at least we are aware of the situation and won't get into any more debt. One day we will be debt free!:j

Lots of good stuff going on today! I keep reading on here about BMs and thinking..hmm..shall I get one? Might alter DS's view of sandwiches (he's not a fan, which isn't making packed lunches very easy).
Been to the shops this morning and got DS's summer wardrobe of shorts, t-shirts and swim shorts for £24.
Then onto the supemarket for weekly food shop, plus 2 pressies (half-price bottles of wine).
Now going to get on with the ironing (not much to do), but wish me luck - I'm going to use the Wilko wonderweb stuff to repair hems and hopefully bring 4 pairs of suit trousers back into circulation!
Inbetween times, I'm on here, catching up with threads and looking for more MSE ways to take on!Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
I made some pizza things to use up some bread mix in the cupboard (see below) and also made a huge pot of homemade curry as I had a sweet potato which need used up.
I registered with Amazon as a seller. My books were listed on Green Metropolis already but now they are on both sites.
I haven't spent a penny today. I wanted a no spend day as we had a day out yesterday which cost £30 ish.Ali-OK wrote:Lots of good stuff going on today! Ali, you might want to try the recipe for pizza whirls swirls on here for your DS. I used tesco own brand bread mix which is about 50p per pack. I mixed it in my bread maker but would be very easy to mix by hand. They are delicious, I'm sure you could make a batch then freeze them.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0
