Foaming at the pc?.....sorry am i the one starting threads about ebay rule breakers......hold on let me check the news and see if you uncovering the crime of the century gets a mention...BRB.....lol
Isn't that the key point? If you're striaght on ebay, don't the rule breakers cause problems/caution/put off buyers/make more money than you by tricks?
If you're straight and honest on ebay, why would you have a problem with rule breakers being stitched up?

Real1314, you asked a civil question and i'll answer it in a civil manner so please don't take this reply as argumentative or a personal attack.
i have been a successful ebay trader for many years, i stopped all together about 18 months ago and i no longer make my living there although i have recently started selling as a business on ebay again recently, ebay and amazon are now only secondary income streams for me now as i have other business interests.
i am indifferent to the small timers who try to bend rules regarding postage, i was a large seller in my days as a full time ebay trader and i never had to resort to these tactics to make money yet i bear no malice to those that do and they have certainly never impacted on my sales.
i firmly believe that the vast majority of buyers on ebay can do the simple sum of price + postage = what i'll pay in total and have enough brain cells to decide whether or not that’s a better deal than the non rule breaker offering the same item and they don't need protecting by the self appointed ebay police like some of the people we see here.
The fact is ebay are billionaires, the guy adding the extra postage is a small timer trying to make a few extra quid so i'd let him get on with it, he's not hurting me but if others feel compelled to report it, fine they are within their rights to as the seller is after all breaking the rules....so what annoys me?
when i see threads where people are discussing going out of their way to destroy a small ebay sellers business that annoys me, by that i mean buying from them, not because they want the item but because they want to down score the seller on dsr's and neg them after refusing to pay the postage and for anyone discussing this and doing it while thinking that they have some sort of moral high ground let me add this, buying from a seller, (rule breaker or not) with the malicious intention of leaving low dsr scores and negative feedback is against ebay policy and you can be reported for it so by doing it you break more rules than the seller......so where’s your moral high ground now?
i think such malicious activity is abhorrent and should not be discussed or encouraged on these boards and that is why i object, i hope that answers your question. :beer:0 -
Just neg them and move on, that's what feedback is for afterall. Once they get a few red circles next to their name they may wise up a bit, or leave ebay to the genuine sellers.0

I think maybe you need to read the threads properly most of the threads on this subject are buyers who have unknowingly bought from sellers who then try and add extra in the free postage categories. Be it written in the listing or not. The fact that this puts a bad reputation on all buyers in these categories if these individuals keep doing it.
Most of the conversations in threads about buying from these sellers has been tongue in cheek (you seem to have problems with that concept) pointing out what problems the seller would have. I find it difficult to take from you preaching moral high ground when we have heard of your so called business practices. Also with your comments on another thread yesterday which has been pulled there is no way you can preach the moral high ground to anyone
Oh why do you feel the need to constantly tell us what a successful businessman you are? Are you a little insecure. Your going to have difficulty keeping all those stories together soon. Please stop PMing me I won't reply or read them0 -
I assume it is not only me who notices how threads descend into the mire when the resident non-legal advisor climbs upon the soapbox? I'm so glad i've not had the misfortune to make an ebay purchase from him!
Last nights thread was verging on legendary until it vanished!0 -
Given that ebay are moving towards a more catalogued inventory, where descriptions are generic, and terms are standard (free P&P, mandatory dispatch times etc) half-witted sellers like this will not stand a chance.
And rightly so. eBay will be much better off without them.
Buying on ebay should not be difficult. The easier it is for a customer to find my item, make their choice and then GIVE ME THE MONEY, the better. Why try to trip them up with mindless T&C's, and why leave a nasty taste in their mouth when it comes to them dealing with the next seller?<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
