Orange network gone crap!

Is it just me or is anyone else on the Orange network suffering major problems receiving phone calls and texts?. A friend of mine started having the issues about a month ago where she wasn't able to receive texts and anyone phoning her mobile was put straight through to the answer voice service. Then, all of a sudden, when she phoned out she would be bombarded with all the text's sent to her since receiving the last lot. Now when she thinks someone might have texted her she has to initiate a call from her phone to receive them?! No idea why, but must be something to do with her making a connection out the way which then finds it's path back to her phone to deliver the moutain of texts that never found their way to her!.

Similarly, my own phone is now doing exactly the same, but I'm receiving texts at 3am which were sent days before!!!. Phoning Orange they originally said it was most probably a sim issue and had us do just about everything possible, though it never worked. On many many many phone calls later they actually admitted it was a mast problem and by this time most people I know on the Orange network are experiencing similar issues - it's like Orange are in melt-down for some reason with there network packing up altogether!.

I asked to speak to a manager or someone else higher up than the call centre monkey although they told me they didn't have anyone superior to them, but unfortunately for the clown I do have more than 1 brain cell and explained if there are more than 6 reps on those phones then they are required to have a superior present, although they went on to explain the manager wasn't available. Gits!

Over the many weeks I've been bombarded with a whole load of nonsense from the outright lies to the sublime, end result is still the same and that Orange cannot deliver texts to many people and those affected cannot even receive phone calls, but what it does mean is those people who are trying to phone an Orange user will be charged handsomly for the connection to the answering service which means if someone can't get hold of you they will no doubt try again later, and maybe later still, then maybe again at some point in the day meaning a nice little earner for Orange every time someone is directed to the voicemail - if I didn't know any better I'd say Orange are doing this on purpose to generate some much needed cash!

If you're on Orange, I'd make sure you can receive phone calls and texts and if not hammer them with your complaint, hopefully if enough people phone them they will actually get off their backsides and do something about it - as for me, I'm changing network as I refuse to support a business that puts so little importance on a customer.
Cheers
Marko

First of all, what handset do you have? Second, what areas are these problems occuring in? What level of signal does the handset display? The problem will be down to one of three things, the handset, the sim card or the network, I'd rule out the sim card right away as it wouldnt cause anything like this, if it only occurs in one area then it'll be a network fault, probably with a single phone mast, instead of ranting post some info

you obviously missed this 'info' from my post ... "they actually admitted it was a mast problem"
instead of ranting post some info
sorry, I'm not sure whether your intentionally being pedantic or you mean well, either way it's quite a blunt statement

If it's a mast problem then either you only have one mast serving your area, or it only happens in one area and is fine everywhere else.

I run three phones on three different networks: O2, Virgin and Orange, the Orange network coverage is the most variable, O2 the most reliable (London and South East)
