Orange business madness

I went into an Orange shop at the weekend to get a new business account with two new phones on it.

I chose the phones I liked (SPV M5000 and a Nokia 6111 for my missus) and filled out the paperwork, provided proof of address etc. I wanted to take the phones there an then, so provided Orange with a purchase order which they needed for their a business order. After much faffing about on the phone, and promises of increasing discounts to keep me from walking out of the store, the sales guy eventually stated that the Orange account activation team (who do the credit checks etc) had to verify the company landline before setting up the account.

Now, bear in mind this is a Saturday, and we are a small company, so the entire company was standing in his shop (myself and the other half). It transpires that because noone was "answering the phone" they wouldnt authorise the new account! I did point out to the manager that it was the weekend...we were closed and were actually standing in front of him if he wanted any kind of verification that we existed!

So after about an hour we just left disgusted - how do then expect small businesses to be in two places at once? Just a warning to save other people in similar circumstances from wasting your time.

Going to try T-Mobile next - see if they have any similarly crazy rules!

Regards,

Neil

what about setting up as self employ (for orange) or is it the same as well or call orange telesale. So far I found the actual shops to be a bit useless and still waitin for my credit on my account
