    :T September Challenge £5 per day - £0/£150 :T
  • Number 3 for me today .
I set 10 as my target this month as normally i manage that no bother cause i'm always skint in the last 2 weeks of the month, so don't have a choice whether i spend every day or not !...but after creating a weekly budget last month which I'm now sticking too :D, I seem to be able to spend a £1 or so a day on something to eat at work (crisps, choclate etc) & not be skint. So its sort of hindering my NSD challenge haha !

Determined still to get 10 though !
Off to update my signature x
Whats meant to be will always find its way...;)
  • Yesterday was a nightmare - cinema tickets for tonight, tickets for show in October with DD and then gave up and went to Sainsburys for expensive ready meal tea :-)
Hopefully today may be better (making DD buy the snacks for cinema for Mr T's on way) hehe x
  • Oh god, I'm reading all these and it's just making me feel bad about what I'm not doing! Well done everyone; even those of you who don't feel you're doing well are doing way better than me! I've only had one NSD this month, and I won't have another one until Monday at the earliest. Only I've just remembered that I have something on on Monday evening, so may well have to spend then.

    Aaarrrgh!!!
  • Hi all!

Haven't managed a NSD today :(. Had to take my coffee machine back to the shop to get a replacement and saw some great ornamental teapots reduced from £15 to £5.30! Couldn't resist, bought 2 (mum and MIL bday pressies sorted!) :j Have got budgeted money for this but still don't feel that I can call it a NSD. Doubt I'll manage one tomorrow because we're off to the local sea life centre and, though we have an annual pass for entry, I'll probably treat myself to a coffee in the cafe whilst the kids play in the ball pit! Hoping for another one Sunday :D

    Well done to all!
  • Number 8 already, doing a lot better this month!

Mmm, today was supposed to be an NSD, but we passed a farm shop selling damsons on the way back from the chiropractor (medical, doesn't count, my rules!!). I had given up finding any this year, so we had to stop and buy some...12 pounds for £7.65 Pretty good (I got 10% off for buying in bulk, and an extra 10% as everything had 10% off today!). Of course we bought a few more things, but it was so nice just to be out shopping (have hardly done that in the last 9 months since I hurt my back.

I usually get my damsons from my own tree (hardly any as swamped by next door's clematis and been too ill this year to make a fuss) or from a friend who is ill himself . Still, it is much better than having to BUY jam (don't know when I last did that)!!!

I have already made numerous jars of blackcurrant jam, my boys' favourite, with damson running a close second. I plan on making various chutneys, jams and jellies in the next month or two. I could well have enough rowan berries as well as lots of haws and hips too to make a variety of jellies, a bumper year I think! These will all go to ease the Christmas present buying/making frenzy that will inevitably decend soon. Hand-made gifts are
appreciated much more, even if they cost a few pence to make (VERY OS!!)

Was hoping for a NS weekend, but DS2 has come home after his first week @ school saying his shoes are too tight (we did get them at the end of May, and he is still growing...here's hoping we can find a cheap pair of size 13s, adult size that is!). That's a job for DH I think!

    Night night everyone
