well i didn't get the promotion at work. however they were very impressed and said i scored exceptionally well. one of the directors now wants to meet with me to discuss my future as they were so impressed (not impressed enough to give me the job though). i'm actually not as gutted as i thought i would be as i did have a bit of good news as well.

hope you all have a good day

    Hi Starnac,

Sorry you didn't get the job :(

I think they may have bigger and better ideas for you than this role though, especially as one of the directors wants to meet with you. They might want to take you in another direction. I view this in an extremely positive way. I just knew you would shine in the interview :)

I knew you wouldn't! I know you are a forward thinking and progressive worker by the way you talk on here. They are obviously a good company if they can recognise your potential and I bet they will put you to better use!

Star sorry you didn't get the promotion but it is good news the director wants to talk to you and was impressed!

CAFCgirl - sorry you feel the situation is so desperate. Anything we can do to help?

I got offered a job - a long way away - 40 mile trip but its a job and I potentially start a week on Monday! It is a maternity cover role so just 10 months or so. It isn't my ideal job or location or money but they have been quite flexible - I am going to finish at lunchtime on a Friday and then I can come home in time to pick up the kids from school. That should help make up a bit for the early starts and late homes of commuting... So potentially I could have money coming back in quite soon.

wahey thats great news Saving, like you said not ideal but being temp it allows you to cover the bills until the ideal job comes along i guess.....
plus jobs are few and far between these days..... is it a 40 mile round trip, or 40 there and 40 back?

I think Im just freaking out in case DH doesnt get the job, and we up root for nothing. although i know in myself i need to start completely anew, i do worry we arent doing it at the best time given our debt situation, which i'll be honest, is increasing, not decreasing.....

And I'll be honest i feel pretty ashamed to admit it, so ive had a little cry writing this all out. phone calls have started, DH just doesnt seem to "get it" some days.....
we're covering the rent and the council tax, but food is a stretch.....and i really regret going on holiday now, i know we cant change it, but its just so shameful....

Hi cafcgirl - my journey will be an 80 mile round trip so quite a hike!

Have you started a dmp yet? you can get letters from this site insisting that they only deal with you in writing and not by phone quoting various laws. GeorgeUk or fermi or RAS could probably give you the details.

In an ideal world you wouldn't have gone on holiday but you did - you can't undo it - just go from here today. Contact CCCS or Payplan again if you are having worries or difficulties. None of us are on the DFW board from being perfect so stop beating yourself up! Otherwise we will all have to flagelate ourselves too!

We love you, we are with you, so chin up - this too really will pass!

Oh and you have to make sure you have enough money for food. You may have to set up a bank account with someone you don't owe money to and have any wages go into that so at least you can make sure you can eat. You probably need to cancel all direct debits and standing orders as well other than for rent, council tax and TV license but again CCCS or Payplan should be able to advise you. Good luck.

    aww thanks hun...

i know "i know" we'll be ok, I just tend to panic about the unknown....
I just kinda wish DH would get his finger out and send some letters or basically help in some way, rather than it always being me....
