Hi all,

Its time for a sticky in this forum. I am going to compile a list of networks and contracts for people looking for something specific like inclusive 0844 calls etc.
The list will be based on questions that users mostly ask and will contain answers that most senior members type again and again. Like always please feel free to suggest something and I will add it to the list with a thanks to you.

Which Network / Contract for International Calls, I Use 07744 / 07755 numbers?

Orange (Cross Network inclusive minutes can be used to dial 07744 / 07755 numbers)

New Contracts: See their tarrif plans and go for a plan that includes CROSS NETWORK minutes.

Old Contracts: All Cross Network plans including but not limited to Your Plan and Offpeak 1000 (cross network) include calls to 07744 / 07755 numbers.
(Sadly the most popular 1000 X-Net tarrif is no longer available from orange, people who still have it should consider keeping on to it)

Virgin Mobile (Cross Network inclusive minutes can be used to dial 07744 / 07755 numbers)

New Contracts: See their tarrif plans and go for a plan that includes CROSS NETWORK minutes.

T-Mobile (Cross Network inclusive minutes can be used to dial 07744 numbers)

T-Mobile include calls to 07744 in cross network bundle since 26th of June 2006. [Thanks to everybody who spotted it]

Contracts Confirmed: Everyone Offpeak, Everyone, Relax, Flext.

Contracts not confirmed: U-Fix.

New Contracts: See their tarrif plans and go for a plan that includes CROSS NETWORK minutes.

WARNING: Monitor your inclusive minutes closely
If you use up all your inclusive minutes on above networks call to these numbers will be charged normally at rate of 30 to 40p / Minute.

WARNING: Vodafone, O2 and Three
Networks not listed above do not include calls to 07744 / 07755 in their inclusive minutes. So calls from Vodafone, O2 and Three will be charged separately and would not come out of your inclusive minutes (normally at rate of 30 to 40p / Minute).
(Calls not included on O2 from 1st July 2006)

Which Network / Contract for International Calls, I Use 0844, 0870, 0845 numbers?

O2 (O2 to O2 & Landline Inclusive minutes can be used to dial 0844, 0845, 0870 numbers, Cross network minutes can also be used to make these calls)

New Contracts: See their tarrif plans and go for any plan that includes O2 to O2 & Landline minutes. You can also get a Cross Network plan but generally you get better value with O2 to O2 & Landline plans.

Old Contracts: All plans including O2 (both online & high street) 50, 100, 250 etc. , Liesure Time Plus and Liesure Time All include calls to 0844 numbers.

TIP: It doesnt matter what is the actual price of call to a specific 0844 number. All 0844 numbers are treated same so you should try expensive ones (5p) as they are less busy and provide better quality. These prices are announced for landline customers who actually pay the said price per minute.

WARNING: Orange, Virgin Mobile, Vodafone, T-Mobile and Three
All Networks other than O2 do not include calls to 0844, 0845, 0870 numbers in their inclusive minutes. So calls from Vodafone, T-Mobile and Three will be charged separately and would not come out of your inclusive minutes (normally at rate of 10 to 35p / Minute).
(with an exception of "Everyday 50" contract on orange that includes calls to 0870)

Which Network / Contract for International Calls, I can only use 0871 numbers?

T-Mobile (The network that charge you a flat 10p / minute for calling 0871 numbers, while you will get some destinations expensive than normal 7p rate but they would not charge you over the top like other networks.)

New & Old Contracts: See their tarrif plans and go for any plan that suits you.
Make sure to go through T & C as there might be some catches like 18 month contract on some tarrifs.

Three
A flat 15p / minute charge for calling 0870/0871 numbers. - Thanks again to pricefighter

New & Old Contracts: See their tarrif plans and go for any plan that suits you.

A big thanks to pricefighter for additions. Will add more later.
Suggestions and Corrections welcome.

Hope that helps

The difference being is that this post is now posted by the person who posted it on the other site https://www.niftylist.co.uk in the first place .

The person who posted it here originally ripped it off from that site.

Yes that true, I posted it on niftylist and before long it was posted here. I anticipate your feedback and I will update the post. I hope it will make it easier for people to know how to get best value international calls from Mobiles (Contracts).

Thanks, the thread however is discussing contracts only and I will update it using your reference about some old contracts.

Since when have they been inclusive on Orange Contracts?

0844 are not inclusive on contract, it is on pay as you go if you notice I said pay as you go :-). On contract you have to pay, remember orange have this lovely habit of making pay as you go so good compare to its contract offering

NB: just see why you said that did not see contract part of the title.
  • Thanks this is really useful
