Happy New Year everyone - I was very boring in the end, went to bed 10:45 New Years Eve, read a book till 11:50 then lights out and settle down to sleep just in time for the fireworks to start going off! Was visiting family over New Year, back home late New Years day night, to be greeted by Antarctica on our doorstep. Apparently more of the same forecast for several days - whoopee doo, can't wait! Just wish I didn't have to drive in the poxy stuff. Ah well, such things are sent to try us. Sleep well you lucky sods in your warm beds, see you all tomorrow!

    Hi everybody.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P

    Bump ...

I found that meerkat whilst doing a New Year resolution clear out of my PC - only problem is that it looks like it may take me all year to do the clear out.

Hi Tixy! That is part of what I am sorting/clearing out. The advantage of a digital camera is that you don't have to pay for prints to see what you managed to photo, the disadvantage is that you might take 5/6 shots of one picture, download the lot to the PC, but only ever use one - yikes, but I really do have a load to clear out, and yes, will retain the better ones.

    ... and bump!!!

    Quick cold 'Bump' from me.
'Trundling' has been more like a motorised version of 'Dancing on Ice' - without the celebrities - over the last few days.
I am totally fed up with it - it must be the hardest way to earn £6 an hour - so I've got today off. ;)
Have a great day (Trolls excepted).

Hi Numpty - I don't care who beats Man U as long as they get beaten, but well done Leeds ....

Hi everyone else, hope you're all OK and managing to stay warm today.

Rog - pleased you've got today off, trundling really can't be much fun in this weather and people have no patience if you're late, I would guess. Enjoy your day off.

Going to watch Doctor Who later (and probably cry at the end like everyone else seems to have done!!!)

    Back later
