Rog - I hope that 2010 will be successful for your business too and you can ditch driving for the green goblin Asda:D

Thankfully for me I cannot see to drive at night and will do my utmost to avoid it - I spent last night watching Law & Order SVU over on the Hallmark Channel and most of today I have been watching Come Dine with Me on Discovery Real Time:rolleyes:

    HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL

Hope that 2010 is the year that changes are made all round, and that you all have all the success and luck such wonderful people deserve. XX

(hmmmm -also hoping the trolls have all the luck they deserve ;))

Just to add my late appearance today is not alcohol based this time but just been busy with starting my new year!, I have my new blue spending diary ready but I'm hankering after a rather nice proper diary which is sadly in the shops for £9.99 - if I hold on a couple of days I'm hoping it might reduce).

Another quick bump and welcome to any newbies.

Just worth mentioning to any newbies that this time of year the boards get very busy and at the same time not all the experienced people are around during the holiday time. So if you post a new question/thread and don't get answers please do come back and post again/bump your question so that someone does see your post and replies.

.......must stay away from the christmas chocolate. I bought some new scales (in the sale;)) yesterday so I can obsessively weigh myself down to 0.2 of a lb! Wonder how much difference that half box of matchmakers will make?:o

    Hi everyone,
Hope you've all had a good day.

Thread's managed to wander nearly down to page 3 while I was off taking a look at some of the other threads, so time it was bumped back to the top again.

    Hi everybody.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P

And it's probably time we had another one of these as well.

    Morning Numpty, hope you're OK?

Morning teabythesea, urgh, tonsilitis, hope you're feeling better soon.

Hi to everyone else, hope you're OK today. Snowing here again (groan....), grey and grim, not nice. Luckily I wasn't planning on going anywhere today.

    Morning All,

Ooh tonsillitis is rotten tea, hot lemon, honey and salt is meant to be soothing?? But with any sore throat problem I always go for hot ribena with cider vinegar and honey in it - not sure how much it really helps but it makes me feel better!

I was getting ready to go for a 5mile walk to my folks (new year =more exercise) but sadly its started snowing so I've thought better of it.
