Keep a window open Numpty Sweetheart....see if it makes you feel better.
Is there a Home Bargains up there near you? They did have some CO detectors in at £1.99 ( rrp in B&Q ware £12 !) Think they were by `FireAngel` .
Please don`t take any risks if you think there may be a CO leak :eek:
Evening all:wave::wave:0 -
Keep a window open Numpty - I think you can get carbon monoxide detectors from hardware stores and possibly the fire service (although I am not sure about that).
I was watching the weather forecast this morning and they are forecasting a dumping of snow on Wednesday:eek:
Rog M5/M6 currently clear - all snow and ice has gone from the side streets.0 -
Good evening all, stuffed to the eyeballs with turkey, Christmas pud, turkey, sweets, turkey, sausage rolls, turkey...... cat had some turkey giblets as a treat, chickens had a few grapes. Felt groggy yesterday, just twigged why - I had 2 night shifts followed by only 3 hours sleep the following days, when I usually have 5 hours or so. Consequently Christmas Day afternoon was spent on the sofa watching my Blackadder 2 DVD (present from son). OH was at work so we opened remaining presents when he got home. Recovered enough today to do the full Christmas dinner bit.
Numpty - get on to your local plumber/heating engineer and get that boiler checked out asap.
Rog - 3 cheers for the cat, hope he recovers fully soon.
All the rest of you - happy holidays! One life - your life - live it!0 -
Hi everyone,
Tixy - boots sound gorgeous and, to quote Lula "bargainous" - you're right, would have been criminal to have not clicked on them.
Horace - hope you have a good couple of days away.
Numpty - please get your boiler checked asap, keep a window open - you need to get fresh air in - and any local hardware store will stock CO detectors - please don't take any risks.
Rog - really pleased moggy perked up for his birthday, hope he stays comfortable over the next few days. Hope the roads are better for your trundling tomorrow.
Nargle - glad you, chickens, cats and family had a good Christmas, hope you manage to get some sleep now!
Take care all and here's another dancing Santa for you.The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

Hi everybody.
Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.
What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.
If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.
what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.
Kind wishes
P

Didn't the miners use canaries, numpt?
Seriously, though, we had a similar problem about ten years ago and had to call out the Gas board. They told us we had to put in a ventilation point - even gave us a vent cover. Did as we were told and have had no problems since.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
