I have a 6 hour drive ahead of me today. I was planning on setting off at 6:30am as if I was going to work but I was too tired when I woke up and decided it wasn't safe. So I'm just getting up now. I don't know what time I'll get back tonight but I'll try to remember to text Maz and ask her to tell you I'm back (if she doesn't mind, that is). I'd better get dressed and get breakfast soon. I'll do one more post before I set off though.

Edit: Oh great, that's all I need, to be fighting the flaming tourists the whole way down the A64. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8227064.stm

Really would like to bundle kids in the car and just drive away for a few days but haven't got anywhere to go...

Ok, I'm setting off now. Wish me luck. I'll talk to you guys again whenever my grandparents find their TalkTalk CD. Bye for now.

I now have a curly furred cat

Got home from my run last night feeling great, I did a very comfortable 8 miles. :T

Nipped into Jessica's room (6 yr old) to check on her before I went for my shower and got a shock........

found our cat Maureen in her grasp looking very miserable and spiky.

she shot out of the room and kind of ran downstairs, flicking her feet all the time, she looked like she was trying to climb out of her own fur.

Asked Jess what she'd put on her and she said that she was giving Maureen a wash.

Went to fetch distraught cat to find her covered all over in liquid hand soap from the bathroom.
I couldn't leave it for her to lick off so I had to wrestle the poor thing into the bathroom and shower as much of the soap off as I could.

You can imagine that maureen was not enamoured by this idea. She slipped and slid all around the bath in ever increasing foam.
She's not a big cat and when wet she looked like a ferret.

Managed to wash most of the soap off then wrapped her in a towel, her spiky head sticking out of one end and her tail dripping all over me dangling out of the other.
She was shaking but stayed where she was.

Took ages for her to dry and now she's all curly

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.

She needs spoiling rotten (even more than usual)
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Pooky - please calm down, no need to go berserk. :)

    Hello all.
    Plans for the long weekend....
Saturday - Make lunch for gran, do an online course that I was supposed to do months ago, tea at mums, watch TV.
Sunday - Wash car, make lunch for gran, go visiting with mum, tea at mums, watch TV.
    Monday - Working.

Sometimes, I don't know how my old bones cope with my high adrenaline lifestyle. :)

    Have a good one everyone.
