Just had an email from Sky telling me that they are increasing my broadband speed to "up to 10MB" and changing the name from Mid to Everyday. However, what they fail to mention is that my useage cap is now 25% of what it used to be. Also at the end of the email they state:
"If your line is already running at the fastest download speed it can support, there will be no change to your download speed at this time. If your line changes in the future, it will be checked to see if we can improve the speeds then". Hence I will see no improvements.
What these "improvements" mean is that if I want to maintain the current service then I will have to upgrade. Thus Skys "upgrade" is really a price increase of 100%.

This change was announced back in June. You have the option to cancel.
Your upload speed on everyday will go up from 400kbps to around 600kbps, whether the download improves is dependent on your distance from the exchange, line noise and internal wiring. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Good opportunity to cancel and migrate to a better ISP.No free lunch, and no free laptop
